Working with a UK manufacturer that has more than 10,000 existing extrusion tools can make the development and ordering process much simpler.

When you send us a drawing, sample or set of dimensions, we can search our tooling library to see whether we already have a die that matches, or closely matches, your requirements.

Using an existing tool may help to eliminate tooling costs and reduce development time, helping your project become a reality.

Manufacture is on the South Coast of England, at our Littlehampton factory, and you are welcome here onsite, just book in with the sales team for a factory tour or face to face meeting.

James works closely with customers to provide technical advice, accurate quotations and recommendations for bespoke silicone extrusion solutions. From reviewing drawings and specifications to advising on the most suitable materials and profiles, he helps ensure every enquiry is practical, achievable and responded to promptly.

With experience in technical support, customer service and tool hire, James understands the importance of asking the right questions from the outset. Gathering accurate dimensions and application details early helps us provide fast, accurate quotations and manufacture products that meet your exact requirements.
Outside of work, James has been a Scout Leader for nearly 10 years, a role that has strengthened his problem-solving, communication and adaptability, skills he brings to every customer conversation.

What Happens Before a Silicone Extrusion Reaches Production?

Most people see the finished silicone extrusion. Few see the manufacturing process behind it.

Every extrusion starts with a custom silicone compound, mixed to the specific requirements of the application and customer requirements. Catalysts, pigments and additives are carefully incorporated before the material is prepared for production.

The process then includes:

✔ Material preparation and mixing
✔ Precision extrusion through a dedicated tool
✔ Initial curing in hot air tunnel
✔ Post-curing in controlled ovens
✔ Final inspection before dispatch

Because every application is different, we manufacture to order rather than supplying products from stock.

This approach helps ensure consistent quality, repeatable performance and silicone components that meet the requirements of demanding industrial and regulated applications.

Meet the Team: Sue Vincent

Sue joined Advanced Materials in 2015 and is a key member of our Customer Service team, helping customers with enquiries, orders, and project requirements.

When asked what she wishes more people understood about her role, Sue said:
"Many people are surprised to learn that we don't keep stock on the shelf. Everything we manufacture is made to order, and we can produce bespoke seals and silicone profiles to meet individual customer requirements."

And when asked: What would you say is your personal approach to customer service?

I am always friendly and try to help in any way I can. When customers say they cannot find a suitable profile on our website, I ask for more information, such as shape and dimensions. I will go through our existing tools and find something as close as I can. I will check whether we have any production samples I can send off for their evaluation.
