"Flexible office" means different things to different people. To a partition contractor, it means one thing: demountable or traditional dry lining?

Demountable systems can be reconfigured without demolition. Traditional GypWall is permanent but performs better acoustically for the same spend.

Getting this decision right at design stage saves money later. We've installed both systems across London and we're happy to talk through which makes sense for a specific brief.

Buildings move. Multi-storey commercial buildings in London move noticeably - thermal expansion, settlement, floor deflection, wind loading. Dry lining that doesn't account for this will crack.

The fix is movement joints at the right positions, installed correctly. It's straightforward when it's planned from the start. It's expensive when it's done retrospectively.

We set out movement joint positions before we start framing. Give us a call if you're working on a commercial project where this matters. 0204 572 0878.

"Tape and joint to a good standard" doesn't tell a contractor much. There are three finish levels - L3, L4 and L5 - and each one is appropriate for different spaces and lighting conditions.

The problem comes when L4 workmanship is installed in a space that needs L5. Under normal lighting you won't see it. The moment raking or high-gloss finishes go in, every board joint shows. At that point the only fix is to strip back and start again.

We flag the finish level requirements at tender. Premium spaces need L5. The cost difference is worth it.

Your partition spec says Rw 45dB. That's the lab figure. What gets delivered on site is typically 3 to 5dB lower - and the difference is down to installation quality, not the product.

Flanking paths, poorly sealed perimeters, service penetrations and junctions at floor and ceiling - these are the details that lose you acoustic performance. They're also the details that get missed when speed is prioritised over method.

We check the acoustic requirements before we start and build the installation around actually delivering them. Not just fitting boards.

Call 0204 572 0878 if you're specifying partitions with acoustic requirements on your next project.

Working in a brand-led environment means the finish has to support the space, not distract from it.

TPLS Interiors recently completed a phase of painting and decorating at Burberry HQ in Westminster.

The scope included existing partitions, bulkheads, doors and skirtings.

In spaces like this, the decoration package plays a bigger role than people often realise. It affects how clean the room feels, how the lighting works, how architectural lines are read, and how the space presents to staff, visitors and guests.

For a commercial auditorium, the finish needs to be calm, consistent and professional. It needs to sit quietly in the background while still being executed to a high standard.

That means:

• Smooth, well-prepared surfaces
• Consistent colour and sheen across different areas
• Neat edges around doors, frames and skirtings
• Careful finishing around bulkheads and service zones
• Minimal visual noise across large wall planes

A completed space should feel effortless, but that only happens when the detail is managed properly.

In high-end commercial spaces, decoration is often the final layer everyone sees.

That makes it one of the most important parts of the project.

TPLS Interiors recently completed a phase of painting and decorating works at Burberry HQ in Westminster, covering the existing ground floor auditorium, including partitions, bulkheads, doors and skirtings.

The challenge with an auditorium is that the lighting is unforgiving. Track lighting, open ceilings, long sightlines and large wall surfaces quickly reveal poor preparation, uneven finishes or weak detailing.

For this phase, the focus was on:

• Clean, consistent finishes across existing partitions
• Sharp detailing around doors, frames and skirtings
• Careful preparation before final coats
• Maintaining a professional finish around exposed services and architectural features
• Delivering a refreshed space that feels clean, modern and complete

Good decorating is rarely about one dramatic moment. It is the result of many small decisions being carried out properly: sanding, filling, cutting in, protecting, checking, touching up and reviewing under real lighting conditions.

That is where the standard is set.

If your commercial space needs refreshing, upgrading, or bringing back to standard, contact TPLS Interiors to arrange a project discussion.

Recently completed phase at Burberry HQ in Westminster.

TPLS Interiors has completed painting and decorating works to the existing ground floor auditorium, including existing partitions, bulkheads, doors and skirtings.

This was a space where the finish really mattered. Auditorium environments expose every detail: large wall areas, strong lighting, visible junctions, doors, trims, circulation routes and architectural features all need to read cleanly as one completed space.

Our scope focused on bringing the existing interiors back to a sharp, consistent standard while working around the practical demands of a live commercial environment.

The works included:

• Preparation and decoration of existing partitions
• Painting to bulkheads and feature areas
• Finishing of doors and frames
• Skirting decoration and detail finishing
• Careful attention to junctions, edges and high-visibility areas

A strong decorating package is not just about applying paint. It is about preparation, protection, sequencing, consistency, and leaving the space looking considered from every angle.

Well done to the TPLS Interiors team involved.

At Park Mead Primary School in Cranleigh, TPLS Interiors delivered a high-quality acoustic ceiling upgrade within the school’s sports hall.

The works included the installation of an MF suspended ceiling system finished with British Gypsum Gyptone Quattro 41 acoustic plasterboard, selected to improve sound control in a large, open-use education environment.

Sports halls demand robust, well-planned ceiling solutions. The space must support PE lessons, assemblies, after-school activities, events, and daily school use — all while managing sound, lighting, safety, and visual presentation.

TPLS carefully installed the ceiling system around the existing structural timber beams and services, ensuring clean lines, accurate setting out, and a consistent finish across the full hall. The perforated acoustic board design adds both practical sound absorption and a refined architectural finish.

The final tape and joint finish provides a smooth, professional result, helping transform the hall into a brighter, cleaner, and more comfortable space for pupils, staff, and visitors.

High-end interiors do not happen by accident.

Behind every clean line, sharp reveal and seamless finished surface is a huge amount of groundwork that often gets overlooked.

On the Orme Court project, TPLS Interiors carried out:

Primary fire-rated linings to new and existing timber joist floors
Secondary MF ceilings and acoustic ceilings
New partitions and wall linings
Dot & dab throughout
Full plastering package

For project managers, this is where strong subcontract delivery matters most. When the structure, linings, ceilings and plaster finish are right, everything that follows has a better chance of landing exactly as intended.

The final result here reflects the importance of getting the core package right early:
compliance, buildability, surface quality and detailing all working together to support a premium finish.

Good projects are easier to manage when the basics are done exceptionally well.
