Things are really starting to come together now, after being absent from our spiritual home here for 6 years, we are settling in and figuring out how everything works in the new house

And today I have a functioning downhill bike again and we have rounded up all our belongings from our great friends that stored them for us since we left in a hurry when we caught the last flight home before everything was grounded by the COVID lockdowns…… it feels so good to be back here in this beautiful little coal mining town with such a big personality 😂

We did manage a little bit of a gentle hike up to the Montaine hut just get our steps in before opening the first beer 🍺 of the day 😂

We have been catching up with some of our favourite Fernie friends and making plans to do stuff together.

For example we have arranged to meet up for happy hour at the pub tomorrow at 4pm with a few old friends for drinks and to discuss some adventures….. those plans will probably involve lots of alcohol and maybe a curry after a good hike to the top of a mountain 😂

Another scorchio 🥵 day here in paradise it’s still 28C as the sun went down

We are starting to adjust our body clocks to the local time zone now that is 7 hours behind the Uk…… I still needed an afternoon nap after a big pub lunch and a few beers 🍻 though but that might just be my age 😂

Note to self put phone on silent mode when going to bed if I want to get any sleep… bloody customers 😂 😝

This evening was the Fernie social, a fund raising festival for local causes.

It’s just across the road from our house with a live band, great food and $7 beer!!! A great atmosphere plus we got to catch up with some old friends we haven’t seen for 6 years…… great to see everyone again!

Tomorrow we may go for a healthy hike up a mountain or if that turns out to be a bit ambitious……… We might just float down the Elk River in an inflatable raft with a cooler onboard drinking cold beer 🍻 all day who knows 😂

Living the dream for sure 🤣
