Brain Performance and Nutrition Research Centre

Brain Performance and Nutrition Research Centre The BPNRC is a research centre within Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

We investigate how dietary compounds and supplements influence your mental ability (e.g. speed and accuracy on computerised tasks), mood, sleep and physical performance. The Brain Performance and Nutrition Research Centre (BPNRC) began testing nutritional products in 2007. During the past decade we have tested everything from coffee to multivitamins and breakfast bars to chewing gum. We typically

look at how these interventions influence our mental (cognitive) abilities but can use neuroimaging and physical performance measures alongside this. Our studies are conducted to good clinical practice standard and within the ethical guidelines of the university.
