Bennamann Ltd makes the final cut at the Renewable Energy Awards 2026

The REA (Renewable Energy Association) has unveiled the full list of finalists for the 2026 British Renewable Energy Awards with Bennamann Ltd making the shortlist in the low carbon transport category.

Showcasing our CAPCH4® fuel system that upgrades biogas from organic waste and agricultural residues into vehicle‑grade biomethane (Bio‑CNG) the solution provides a route out of volatile fossil fuel markets and towards genuine energy independence.

Trevor Hutchings, Chief Executive of the REA said...

“As we mark the 21st edition of the British Renewable Energy Awards … we are proud to celebrate the organisations and individuals driving the UK’s home-grown clean energy transition and move to a circular economy. This year’s finalists reflect the expertise and determination shaping the future of the sector – particularly at this time of energy market volatility. Their work is not only accelerating the deployment of low-carbon solutions but helping to build a more secure and independent energy system for generations to come”

WE WON! 🏆🥳

We are delighted to announce that Bennamann has won the The Royal Agricultural Society of England (RASE) Burke Innovation Trophy 2026!

Presented today at the Devon County Show by Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh, the award is given to the best new implement showcasing agricultural innovation.

The award recognises the CAPCH4® fuel system, which upgrades biogas from organic waste and agricultural residues into vehicle‑grade biomethane (Bio‑CNG) - a low‑carbon, renewable fuel for gas‑powered plant machinery and heavy vehicles.

Designed for AD operators and fleet managers, the system provides a route out of volatile fossil fuel markets and towards genuine energy independence. Paired with the 100% methane‑powered tractors from our majority shareholder, CNH (New Holland Agriculture), it delivers a fully sustainable, self‑sufficient energy model for the future.

Congratulations to the amazing Bennamann team who have helped get us this far!

We are thrilled to announce that Bennamann is a finalist for the prestigious Perpetual Challenge Innovation Trophy at the Devon County Show this week!

The trophy is awarded to “the best new implement showcasing agricultural innovation.” The competition is open to all UK businesses involved in, and manufacturing of agricultural machinery and implements.

Our submission spotlights our CAPCH4® fuel system which upgrades biogas derived from organic waste and agricultural residues into vehicle grade biomethane (Bio-CNG): a low carbon, renewable energy source capable of fuelling gas-powered plant machinery and heavy vehicles.

The solution is designed to help AD operators and fleet managers break free from volatile fossil fuel prices and achieve true energy independence.

Combined with the 100% methane-powered tractors from our majority shareholder, CNH Industrial (New Holland Agriculture), we are delivering a truly sustainable, energy independent model for the future.

A huge thank you to the judges for recognising our endeavours, and good luck to all the inspiring finalists this week!

Heading to the Devon County Show? Come and say hello to the team and see how we can future-proof your business. We’ll be on Avenue C, pitch 54!

“Choosing waste is the most commercially savvy move a plant owner can make”

So says Ben Cutts Chief Commercial Officer at Bennamann Ltd.

In Ben's blog he explains that The UK Government’s Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) is designed to reward the most sustainable practices, issuing tradable Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs) based largely on feedstock type. Waste-derived Bio-CNG attracts twice the reward value of crop-derived fuel.

Why? Because it mitigates methane emissions from manure storage while displacing fossil fuels.

At Bennamann Ltd, our upgrading technology is designed to turn waste streams into premium Bio-CNG. We're helping operators embrace a more sustainable, profitable, waste-first future.

Read why making the right feedstock choice is the key to maximising revenues.

Breaking the Gridlock

We are excited to announce that Bennamann has officially entered the pilot testing stage for our new Mobile EV Charger in partnership with VolkerHighways. Currently deployed at the West Berkshire Council depot, this pilot is proving that you don't need a grid connection to power a sustainable fleet.

Infrastructure is often the biggest barrier to electrification. Many depots and remote sites simply cannot get the power they need from the DNO. This trial demonstrates a smarter way forward.

• Biomethane-Powered: We are converting renewable biomethane into on-site electricity - a cleaner, quieter alternative to Diesel and HVO.
• Off-Grid Independence: EV charging infrastructure delivered exactly where it’s needed, without the wait for grid upgrades.
• Live Testing: This pilot allows us to refine our tech in a real-world operational environment alongside the team at Volker Highways.

We are using this testing phase to ensure our solution is reliable, scalable, and ready provide clean off-grid power to multiple sectors.

The future of fleet charging isn't just coming - it's being tested on the ground right now.

There is a life beyond tariffs!

Feed-in Tariffs (FiTs) that once sustained the Anaerobic Digestion industry are coming to an end, leaving many operators facing an uncertain future. But at Bennamann, we see this as a turning point, not a finish line.

Andrew Parsons, our Chief Revenue Officer says “the future of AD isn't just about electricity, it’s about Bio-CNG. By upgrading biogas into high-value vehicle-grade fuel, you can power your own fleet, slash emissions, and secure revenues into the future.”

Read Andrew’s blog to see how small AD operators are future proofing their businesses and leading the local clean energy revolution for a life beyond tariffs.

Two New Holland T6 Methane tractors from Buglers are on their way to FAW Bakers, ready to convert waste into renewable fuel using the Bennamann Refuelling System.

This marks another step towards a greener, net-zero future, empowering our customers to take control of their own fuel supply chain.

Powering the future of farming 🚜🌍

Two T6.180 methane-powered tractors were collected by Giles from FAW Bakers, now ready to get to work on a large dairy farm. With a gas upgrader installed by Bennamann, these tractors run on biomethane produced from slurry, turning waste into energy.

This not only helps reduce running costs but also significantly lowers the farm’s carbon footprint. A brilliant example of innovation driving a greener future in agriculture.🌿🌱
