As part of our ongoing 2026 charity partnership with Cancer Focus Northern Ireland, colleagues across MJM Marine are taking part in fundraising initiatives throughout the year to support the charity’s vital work.

Recently, team members from both MJM Marine and the Kitchen Café took part in the Belfast Marathon, and our annual charity golf day is taking place on the 3rd July.

Last week, our team attended a number of local events, including a dinner with the IoD NI (Institute of Directors) and Newry Chamber Corporate Patrons event with the Ministers for the Economy and Infrastructure.

Our Rathbane Group Joint Managing Directors, Naoimh McConville and Conleth Edward McConville, were guest speakers at a private members' dinner hosted by the IoD Northern Ireland (Institute of Directors) and Rathbones Group Plc at James Street South Restaurant in Belfast.

Naoimh and Conleth discussed the challenges and opportunities in second generation family ownership when overseeing and guiding a growing Group of companies.

Director of People and Governance, Elizabeth O'Connor represented MJM Marine at the Newry Chamber Corporate Patrons' Fireside Chat with Minister for the Economy, Caoimhe Archibald MLA and Minister for Infrastructure Liz Kimmins MLA, in the Whistledown Hotel in Warrenpoint.

The theme of the event was 'Developing Greater Newry into a Sustainable Economic Powerhouse on the Dublin- Belfast Corridor'. This is something that MJM is very proud to support with both our Rathbane Group and MJM Marine headquarters based in Newry.

Yesterday, Rathbane Group's Joint Managing Directors, Naoimh McConville and Conleth McConville, along with Gary Annett, CEO of MJM Marine, attended the launch of Belfast Harbour’s 25-year Masterplan.

This ambitious plan sets out the pathway for £1.3bn investment and an estimated £12bn GVA related to the Harbour Estate.

Rathbane Group, comprising MJM Marine, Mivan Limited, NTS, Topglass Contracts Ltd and Rathbane Holdings is delighted to see this investment in the Northern Ireland maritime sector- a cornerstone of the local economy.

We look forward to continuing our engagement with the Harbour and promoting Belfast as a destination of choice for cruise ship outfitting.

Ahead of today’s Made in NI Awards, we would like to extend our congratulations and best wishes to Holly McCafferty, our Technical Engineer Higher Level Apprentice (HLA).

Holly has been shortlisted for the ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award. This is a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of the hard work and dedication Holly has shown throughout her apprenticeship.

Last week, we marked Mental Health Awareness Week.

MJM Marine encouraged colleagues to take five and have a chat. KitKats were provided in breakout areas across the business as a small reminder of the importance of stepping away, taking a break and looking after our wellbeing.

In our fast-paced industry, even short pauses can make a difference. Mental Health Awareness Week helps us to have conversations about wellbeing and to encourage a positive, supportive working environment across our teams.
