It’s always lovely to hear from happy customers, especially when they’re already recommending us to others!

Our team recently completed this installation in St Agnes, with 23 solar panels, a 16kWh Solis battery and a manual changeover switch to provide backup power during grid outages.

A big thank you to our customers for taking the time to share their feedback. It’s much appreciated!

⛈️ Stormy weather in Cornwall can bring unexpected power cuts, but that doesn’t have to mean losing power at home.

With the right solar and battery storage system, you can keep essential parts of your home powered even when the grid goes down.

A little extra peace of mind, whatever the weather.

Curious about battery backup for your home? Have a chat with our team about the options available.

With Storm Austen bringing severe winds to Cornwall overnight, it's worth taking a few minutes to prepare for a possible power cut.

Charge your phone and power banks, find your torches and make sure you have the essentials to hand.

If you have solar panels or battery storage, it's also worth checking how your system is designed to operate during a power cut.

And remember, if your electricity goes off, you can report it by calling 105.

Stay safe and keep an eye on the latest weather warnings.

On this particular Cornish roof, it happens regularly. Chimneys, overhead lines and a large tree all affect different panels at different times of day.

That’s one of the reasons we chose Enphase micro-inverters. Each panel can work independently, rather than the performance of the whole string being dictated by the most shaded panel.

During one late-afternoon test, a shaded panel was producing just 67W. With the Enphase system allowing the other panels to keep working at their own maximum, that half of the array produced 739W in total.

It’s a good example of why designing around the individual property matters.

A library is so much more than a place to borrow books. It's a place for people to meet, learn and feel part of their community.

At Perranporth Community Library, the new solar and battery system is helping to make this important local space more resilient.

Alongside reducing running costs, the system has been designed to provide the potential for backup power during grid outages, meaning the library could continue to support local people as a community safe hub when it's needed most.

This is how renewable energy can make a difference beyond the electricity bill.

If you're thinking about adding battery storage to your solar panels, it's worth knowing there's more than one option.

Sodium-ion technology is opening up new possibilities for storing solar energy, using more widely available materials without relying on lithium or cobalt.

We're working with Eleven Energy to help homeowners and businesses across Cornwall explore this alternative.

Interested in finding out whether sodium-ion battery storage could work for your property? Have a chat with our team.

How much solar potential could be hiding in an awkward roof?

When a previous customer came back to us looking to generate more of their own electricity throughout the year, the answer was sitting on an unused flat roof at the back of their Cornish cottage.

Shade, limited space, an awkward roof profile and exposure to Cornish weather all had to be considered. Our team designed a bespoke 4kWp system using an east-west layout, bifacial panels and Enphase micro-inverters to make the most of the space available.

One year on, it has generated 3,858kWh, despite significant shading from nearby trees.

From October, energy prices are changing again.

Ofgem’s energy price cap is rising by 4% for a typical household, with higher wholesale gas prices behind much of the increase.

It’s another reminder that the price we pay for energy can be influenced by events far beyond our control.

Solar can’t control energy prices, but it can change how much electricity you need to buy from the grid in the first place.

And when solar is combined with battery storage, more of the electricity generated during the day can be kept for use when you need it.

For homeowners looking at their energy costs over the years ahead, generating and using more of your own electricity is increasingly worth considering.
