Did you know the Fisheries and Seafood Scheme (FaSS) offers government funding to support businesses across the fishing and seafood industry? ⚓

Through a range of grants, the scheme aims to help improve business operations, working conditions and sustainability.

One area to look out for is M2, which focuses on improving energy efficiency in fishing and mitigating climate change. This now includes engines and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems.

Want to find out more? Follow the link to download our FaSS guide for an overview of the relevant information, or visit the government website for the full guidance.

Happy Halloween from PME! 👻

When it comes to ghosting the competition, we're floating above the rest. And the only thing bigger than our spirits is the power of our engines.

But don't worry, we're no poltergeists. We're here to give you a helping hand, not haunt your engine room! 👀

Have a spooktacular Halloween from all of us at PME! 🎃

PS...we see you MAN Truck & Bus UK Lenny made a great ghost!

It’s not the size of the engine, it’s how you handle it.

This Ford Essex 1600cc, marinised by Watermota, is perfectly suited to a Thames slipper. It might be smaller than the engines we usually showcase, but getting it out of an older vessel takes just as much care and precision.

With a few repairs and some routine maintenance needed, it's all about having a steady hand and getting the job done properly.

Just because an engine reaches the end of its life, it doesn’t mean the vessel has to.

The engine in Spectrum 2 is no longer manufactured, but it remains the perfect fit for this 21-metre aluminium catamaran, built for dual-purpose survey and crew transfer operations.

Rather than replacing the engine, we sent it to Germany to be remanufactured to factory standards.
Every component was thoroughly inspected, with parts replaced as required, restoring the engine to a like-new condition. The result? A new lease of life, backed by a full factory warranty.

Because sometimes, the best solution isn’t a new engine. It’s bringing the right one back to life.

We don’t think you’ll like this engine.
Because who wants an impressive power-to-weight ratio, a compact design that fits a range of engine rooms, and low fuel consumption?

And you definitely don’t want a MAN V8. Available in 1,000 hp, 1,200 hp and 1,300 hp, because who actually needs that much power in such a compact package?

And don’t even get us started on the hybrid option. Decarbonisation? Hardly something anyone’s talking about at the moment. 👀

Nope. Definitely not for you.

Meet L’AMAZON, a 30ft Meeks of Marlow slipper launch.

This classic River Thames pleasure boat was built in fine mahogany and has been cruising the waterways since the 1930s, making her around 90 years old.

L’AMAZON serves as the Chairman’s Launch at Henley Royal Regatta, where she can be in use for up to six or seven days during the event.

Her engine is now with the PME team for a check-up and a couple of repairs, helping to make sure she’s running smoothly and ready for next year’s regatta.

We promise we aren’t always jet-setting, but it’s hard not to share some of this month’s adventures!

This time, we’re leaving the guesswork up to you. Swipe through the photos and see if you can work out where we’ve been!

Swipe to the end for the answer, plus a cheeky selfie from the engineer who made the trip. 😂

Any guesses?

Where do you appreciate an engine's power more: in the engine room or out on the water?

A pair of MAN V8-1200s power this Princess F58, and these photos give you a pretty good idea of what they can do.
They may not be the largest engines in the MAN range, but with 1,200 hp each, they certainly don't lack performance.
Compact, powerful and well suited to applications where weight and power distribution matter.

And, ultimately, there's only one place you really want to see that power... out on the water. 🌊

Last year at Seawork, we did things a little differently. We decided to host an Oktoberfest... in June. 🍻

It was such a huge success that we thought, let’s do it again, but bigger and better!
So, if you’re heading to Seawork this year, make sure our stand is on your list. The date and time will be announced on the Seawork portal, so keep your eyes peeled! 👀

Just like last year, drinks will be first come, first served. We ran out in 15 minutes last time, so don’t hang around! 🍺

And if you watched to the end you’ll see Josh has one final message for you... come to the stand! 😂

See you at Seawork 2027!
