Saturday mornings are when I go to the merchant to grab the bulk materials for the coming week. Isaac, my eldest, has been tagging along for around 3 years now. He gets the yard tickets, pays at the counter, has football banter with the staff…he’s become a minor celebrity in there! 😂
The last few months has seen him going to the gym, guzzling protein shakes etc (can’t possibly begin to imagine why 👀), so this morning he had a go at carrying a board to the van. Not starting on the 6x3s, no flimsy 9.5mm board, just a good honest full size half inch board…and he’s not even doing that softarse “two hands under the board” method. 13 years old!

A truly proud dad moment! 🤩💪

Completed this media wall in Horwich today. Been a while since we did anything at this height, you forget how much it takes it out of you! Gone for something different with the shelving, an overlapping style with the lighting on all sides. Because we’ve gotten over an old chimney breast (don’t worry, the room can take it!), there was room for base units to the lower corners providing an ample amount of storage. False back walls were built to the shelves so everything is kept well proportioned, too. Other than that there’s 2 zone RGBW COB lighting, and wide slat oak acoustic panels. Spiffing! 🤩

There’ll be at least one person who noticed this wasn’t posted all finished and pretty on Friday night like they usually are…that’s because it was neither of those things! 😂
Been back this morning to get this one over the line though. At 6.2m wide, it’s certainly a spectacle to behold, but fills the space nicely without coming close to overdoing it. There’s a 75” TV with space for equipment behind to the centre, and a 70” fire with real log set underneath. To the sides, lower cabinets with shelving above. There’s 20m of RGBW COB lighting across the build (split into 2 zones), and the panelling is a prefinished cream ribbed style that was an *absolute pig* to get to the point I was happy with it!
Hopefully the rest of this week will be kinder to us, but I’ll not get too attached to the idea! 😂😂😂

This wall was only built a couple of weeks ago, but there was a decorator on site so not had to wait long at all to see ...

This wall was only built a couple of weeks ago, but there was a decorator on site so not had to wait long at all to see these! The curved elements and painted logs really set this one apart! 😍😍
