One week to go until the North Lincolnshire Armed Forces Day Festival!

We are proud to be the headline sponsor of the event this year, which will take place on Saturday 20 June at Normanby Hall near Scunthorpe.

Our involvement builds on our recent commitment to the Armed Forces community, having formally signed the Armed Forces Covenant, and reinforces our dedication to supporting those who serve or have served.

The event is free to attend and will include activities such as the official Armed Forces Day ceremony, a military and cadet parade, living history displays and heritage attractions, family activities and live entertainment.

This year’s event marks the relaunch of the region’s Armed Forces Day celebrations, bringing together serving personnel, reservists, veterans, Armed Forces families, cadets and the wider community.

Today we’re delighted to announce we’ve signed a new shirt sponsorship deal with Scunthorpe United FC.

It will see our company logo proudly emblazoned on the front of The Iron’s shirts throughout the 2026-27 season as they chase promotion to the English Football League.

British Steel and The Iron are at the heart of the Scunthorpe community.

The club, its officials and supporters have stood by our side through challenging times, and we’re excited to continue being on their side – and their shirts.

The Iron had an outstanding campaign last season, and although they just missed out on promotion, they – like us – are building for the future.

Our company values are Pride, Passion and Progress and we know these are shared by everyone at the club – pride in the shirt, passion for success, and progress to League 2.

We’re backing Scunthorpe United all the way and know many of our employees, who also support the club, are doing just the same.

Up The Iron!

Together we’re

The Bill to grant the UK Government powers to nationalise steel companies such as British Steel continues to progress through Parliament.

The legislation, which builds on the Government’s Steel Strategy, had its third reading in the House of Commons on Tuesday.

It had its first approval from MPs and will now be debated in the House of Lords. If amendments are suggested in the Lords, these would pass back to MPs for approval.

During the reading, Peter Kyle, The Secretary of State for Business and Trade, said: “This Government believe in Britain’s steel future. This Bill will help to transform that belief into a reality.

“It will ensure that the long-term vision for our UK steel sector is realised, helping to restore domestic production to sustainable levels and to support this Government’s economic growth plans. This Bill provides powers for the Government to bring steel companies into public ownership, subject to the public interest test being met.”
