It’s official! We’re proud to announce that the name of the lion we’re sponsoring in aid of Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity is… Roarsome Dennis!

The design is courtesy of local artist Matt Cockayne and is named after Matt’s grandfather, who was a steelworker at Sheffield Forgemasters.

Our lion features a striking black‑and‑gold design with illustrations celebrating Sheffield’s industrial strength, music legends, and a nod to a much‑loved condiment (if you know, you know!).

300 lion sculptures were unveiled across the region on Monday, with ours taking pride of place on Fargate.

A recent overhead crane modernisation in a historic building posed a few challenges for the Street Cranexpress team. The main one was ensuring we didn’t disturb the fabric of the building during our work. As a respectful workaround, we installed scaffolding, which provided safe access and allowed lifting operations to be carried out without impact on the structure.

SCE Academy’s Inspection of Lifting Equipment Accessories course goes beyond theory, giving delegates practical experience inspecting commonly used lifting equipment, including:
