June has been a busy month at Straaltechniek UK, focused on both strengthening partnerships and delivering value for our customers.

Earlier this month, our team attended the 7th Siapro Group Business Conference, where partners from across Europe came together to share knowledge, discuss industry developments, and explore future opportunities. The event reinforced the importance of collaboration, innovation, and strong relationships within the group.

Back in the workshop, our engineering team is carrying out a comprehensive refurbishment of a table blast machine, helping to extend its service life and restore optimum performance through the replacement of key wear components, system inspections, and targeted upgrades.

🛠️How Limited GN Wheel Adoption Delivered Immediate Savings of 86% — And Highlighted Broader Operational Potential

Since 2021, one customer’s conventional wheel usage had been driving significant spare part and consumable costs.

The process didn’t change. Production demands didn’t change.

The wheel strategy did.

With only limited GN wheel implementation, live operating results showed:

Today we say a heartfelt thank you to Jay Dorling for an incredible career and his 16 years of dedication at Straaltechniek.

After 38 years in the Surface Preparation Industry and an impressive 48 years of continuous employment, Jay officially retired on 2nd April 2026.

Throughout his time with us, he has been far more than just a colleague; his knowledge, experience, and guidance have made a lasting impact across the entire team, helping shape and support so many of us over the years.

Jay also built strong relationships with both colleagues and customers, many of whom he considers friends—and leaves behind a legacy of professionalism, trust, and collaboration.

We celebrated his achievements with a well-deserved night out at the dogs, followed by a buffet on his final working day—just a small token of our appreciation for everything he has contributed.

While Jay is officially retiring from his front-facing role, we’re delighted that this isn’t a full goodbye. He will continue to support the business behind the scenes, working on projects and sharing his invaluable experience and guidance. We’re incredibly grateful that we can still benefit from his expertise moving forward.

Jay, thank you for your dedication, hard work, and the lasting impact you’ve made. Wishing you a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement, and we’re grateful that your experience will continue to support the team moving forward. 💙

Proud of the team after a very busy and productive day! 🚚

Today wasn’t just about delivering one machine - we successfully delivered both a refurbished table machine and an automatic recovery system to two separate customer sites, all prepared and ready for installation.

Great teamwork, coordination, and planning from everyone involved to make it happen smoothly.

We are looking forward to seeing everything up and running soon!

🚀 New Website Updates & Customer Success Stories

We’ve recently added new resources to our website, including a dedicated page highlighting how we support Agriculture OEMs with tailored solutions and industry expertise.

We’ve also published two new case studies, including a project where a fully automated abrasive recovery system helped eliminate a production bottleneck in a customer’s shot blasting process. The result? Daily production capacity increased by 84.6%, with throughput rising from 6–7 components per day to 12.

It’s a great example of how practical engineering solutions can significantly improve productivity.

🚀 Helping our customers increase productivity

During a recent site visit, our Area Sales Manager identified an opportunity to improve a customer’s shot blasting process. The customer highlighted a key pain point — after blasting each component, operators had to manually sweep the floor to recover media, creating unnecessary downtime.

After assessing the process, we supplied and installed a fully automated recovery system to eliminate manual media recovery.

The results:

✅ Production increased from 6–7 components per day to 12
✅ 84.6% increase in throughput
✅ 30 minutes of manual labour saved per component
✅ A cleaner, safer and more efficient blasting environment

By removing a production bottleneck, the customer is now able to process significantly more components each day while reducing manual intervention.
