✨️We’re delighted to introduce a brand new collaboration between Potclays and , bringing together two family businesses connected by a shared passion for craftsmanship and creativity! ✨️

We first met Hannah, founder of Walking Apron, earlier this year at NCECA in Detroit, where we saw these fabulous aprons first hand. We were struck by the quality, thoughtful design and genuine understanding of what makers need from studio wear.

We’re passionate about supporting maker-led businesses whose values align closely with our own: Quality materials, thoughtful craftsmanship and a true connection to the ceramics community. We’re excited to now offer a curated selection of Walking Apron products for ceramicists, potters and makers who value both practicality and design in their practice!

In addition to the standard colours, we are excited to share our exclusive special edition apron, featuring our "Perfect Day for Clay" slogan embroidered on the leg pocket.

Last Friday we had the pleasure of attending the University of Staffordshire GradEX Private View and presenting the Potclays Award to two outstanding students.

A huge congratulations to BA Product, Furniture & Ceramics winner Genevieve Mann .design and MA Ceramics winner Alice Watkinson .

The standard of work this year was truly exceptional and choosing just two winners was no easy task. What an inspirational and talented group of students - the future of ceramics is looking very bright indeed ✨

Thank you to the University of Staffordshire for having us, and for continuing to support emerging ceramic talent.

Meet Cocoa 🐾🤎

Our newest bark-eting assistant at Potclays… bringing endless tail wags, expert floor inspections, and absolutely zero understanding of personal space.

Current responsibilities include:

• Greeting visitors
• Boosting team morale
• Napping on the job
• Accepting tasty treats
• Looking ridiculously cute

We think he’s settling in just fine 🐶✨

🔥Visit from The Pottery Workshop🔥

​A few weeks ago, we were honoured to welcome Caroline Cheng and her wonderful team from The Pottery Workshop (PWS) Ceramic Hub to our factory!

​As an international ceramics centre and a certified B Corp, PWS does incredible work nurturing global ceramic art education, creativity, and sustainability across their locations in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Jingdezhen.

​We loved treating them to a tour of our clay factory, sharing our heritage, and celebrating a mutual passion for craftsmanship and community.

It’s always an inspiration to connect with fellow clay lovers from across the globe! 🌍✨

​Huge thanks to Caroline and the entire PWS team for visiting us.

✨ NEW SHIMPO SHOWROOM SPACE ✨

Our lower showroom has had a refresh with a brand new dedicated Shimpo display area! This is a space to explore some of the industry’s most trusted potters wheels and equipment up close.

We were honoured to welcome Ted from Daido USA who own Shimpo Ceramics for a special visit to Potclays a couple of weeks ago. 🇺🇸🇬🇧

During his trip, we treated him to a tour of our clay factory, a visit to the wonderful V&A Wedgwood Collection at World of Wedgwood, lunch at Lunar, and dinner at The Mainwaring Arms 🍽️✨

A brilliant few days celebrating ceramics, craftsmanship, heritage and collaboration.
