📍Crewe

A dining room wall, built out using a product called Hardwall (an alternative to plasterboard) and then finished with Multi-finish plaster.

I added tape to protect these casings as they will be ready to have architrave fitted flush on top to finish off this new wall.

⚒️Along with a few small patches thrown in for free.

This job was done with more traditional methods than modern plasterboarding.

⚒️ The old brick wall had two coats of a product called Hardwall, to build the wall out flush with the door casing and existing coving

⚒️ A mechanical 'Key' applied to enable the finishing coat to adhere better to the Hardwall

⚒️ Finally, 2 coats of skim were applied to finish off a us a solid and smooth foundation
for paint.

🎯 As usual, the home kept clean & tidy throughout

35°C in this bedroom last week was a tough one!

But my customers Cats and Dog were tired of getting locked away whilst I took over their house so I promised them I'd get it finished 😅

I went back after finishing this to fix the skirting board and now the customer can finally get their spare bedroom back ✅

Big Job broke out in Crewe....

Initially, this customer contacted me for a re-skim of this bedroom but upon arrival it was obvious the plaster in this room had had its day!

The chimney breast was literally crumbling off and the rest of the room wasn't far behind it 🫣

So, we took it back to brick, added a little bit of stud work down the side of the chimney at the customers request, and then it's been given new walls and a ceiling.

Ready to be plastered and have the skirting boards fitted this week 🔥

This customer is selling this house and they wanted this exterior wall freshening up, ready for sale!

So with some prep, a scratch coat for the base and then a top coat for the final finish, This wall was given it's freshen up with sand & cement render 🎯

An Enquiry of a customer in Crewe led to a full rip out of the old, crumbling and failed walls in this Bedroom!

The previous plasterer should have treated this ceiling with stabilising solution prior to priming the surface with a bonding agent, like PVA or SBR.

Because they didn't, it means that as the plaster dried and set, it wasn't able to bond to the painted surface underneath.

The chalky residue was preventing it from properly bonding.

If I'd of plastered onto it, the whole lot would of come down!

This time, it's been done properly ✅
