A win today as I finished correcting a badly wired up motor starter on a vintage Wadkin table saw. Lovely machine sturdily built, although I think the blade needs sharpening. Did you know I like vintage machine tools🤣
The lose was a strong breeze blew a curtain that knocked over my computer and smashed the screen 😭

Ok, a little domestic problem to sort out at Forge Cottage and I’m furious at the blatant profiteering and sheer greed of manufacturers at the expense of our wallets and our planet 🤬
This is the flush syphon from our throne which had stopped working.
For the sake of the tiny bit of plastic at bottom of picture, which is what has broken, one has to purchase the entire f**cking thing 😡AAARRGGHH😡

Some find polishing knife blades boring and tedious - I rather enjoy the process.
I machine sand to 400 grit, hand sand to 2000grit, polish on a stitched calico mop then finish with rouge on a swansdown mop

This is one of the gentler jobs at Green Man Knives. Whether I’m making sheathes for my knives or possibles pouches, leatherwork, particularly stitching by hand, is mindful and therapeutic. I’m always amazed at how the time flys by.
