As Pattern Imprinted Concrete is a hand-constructed product and is laid in a variety of weather conditions, it is subject to imperfections. Here are some of the top common mistakes to avoid in order to reduce those imperfections.

1 - Colour fluctuations within one pour - We always recommend taking 50% extra colour surface hardener to site with you to allow you to colour an area more generously if needed (for example if the concrete was too wet) to improve colour consistency across the surface. Also, the importance of Acid Washing (see point 3 below) to remove excess antiquing which would otherwise effect overall colour of the colour surface hardener.

2 - Lack of print detail and/or opening fissures - To get a more defined surface print and fewer or no opening fissures, always lay on polythene.

3 - Sealer pluck caused by excess release agent left on the surface - Wash every job with acid wash, which will clean the surface of the concrete and remove any release agent residue from the surface.
