About the Role
We are a small but expanding construction company seeking an experienced and reliable Self-Employed General Builder to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with a broad range of construction experience to work on a variety of residential and commercial projects.
The ideal candidate will be based locally to Tiverton for ease of commuting and will hold a valid CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) registration.
Key Responsibilities
Construct, repair, and maintain buildings and structures using a variety of materials.
Carry out general building works, including carpentry, masonry, roofing, painting, and basic plumbing.
Fabricate and install structural components such as walls, floors, and roofing systems.
Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
Work closely with colleagues and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
Identify and resolve on-site issues efficiently.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Follow all relevant health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Essential Requirements
Minimum 5 years& #39; experience in general building/construction.
Valid CIS registration.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Strong practical skills across multiple building trades.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Strong commitment to quality workmanship and site safety.
Desirable Skills
Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
Carpentry
Roofing
Painting and decorating
Plumbing
Brickwork and masonry
Property maintenance and refurbishment
