🕷️ CASE FILE: ENYS GARDENS

Some days, a detective finds himself chasing a case.

Other days… the case finds him.

What a day at CMA Comic Con at Enys Gardens, Cornwall. 🕵️‍♂️🌿

Stepping out in full Spider-Noir / Ben Reilly was an absolute pleasure. Meeting fellow cosplayers, chatting with the incredible comic con community, taking photos, and generally wandering around Cornwall looking like I’d just stepped out of a 1930s crime scene.

But there was one particular encounter that deserves its own mention.

A world-class photographer whose work has captured celebrities from film and television and somehow, this time, he found himself pointing the camera at a certain trench-coat-wearing private investigator from New York.

The results?

Well… I think Ben Reilly might finally have found someone capable of documenting the case properly.

David, thank you for taking the time to photograph Spider-Noir. It was an absolute privilege to have the character captured through your lens, and I can't wait to see the finished images.

Days like this are exactly why I love cosplay.

It's not just about putting on a costume.

It's about creating a character, meeting people, telling stories, making memories… and occasionally convincing a very talented photographer that you're a private investigator from another era.

The case continues.

There are places in this city where trouble finds you.

And then there are places where you go looking for it.

This weekend, Spider-Noir aka Ben Reilly will be stepping out of the shadows and heading to Enys Gardens for the True Butterflies Foundation Comic Con.

I'll be there in full Spider-Noir cosplay, wandering the gardens, meeting fellow heroes, villains, weirdos and wonderful people, and probably getting myself involved in a little trouble along the way.

So if you spot a suspicious-looking detective in black wandering around Enys Gardens...

Don't worry.

I'm working a case.

Well... this wasn't on my 2026 bingo card. 🎄💥

The first trailer for Violent Night 2 has landed... and I couldn't resist paying tribute to one of my favourite modern versions of Santa.

Now all that's missing is a mighty hammer, a sack full of presents... and a few very naughty people who clearly deserve to be on the wrong list. 😉🎁

Don't worry... I'll be dusting this cosplay off when Christmas rolls around.

Until then...

Season's beatings are only postponed.🎅💪

COMRADES... they call them the "Smart" cars.

Naturally, there was only one thing to do...

I bought one. 😎

Why?

Because soon it will become the official Red Guardian First Responder Vehicle! 🚨🛡️

Captain America has motorcycle.

Black Widow has sports car.

Winter Soldier probably just steals whatever is parked nearby.

But Red Guardian? I choose efficiency... and parking spaces that even squirrel struggles to find.

This means I am officially...

The SMARTest New Avenger! 🇷🇺

Some heroes save world with billion-dollar technology.

I save world with 698cc of Soviet determination and outstanding fuel economy.

Progress on the build begins soon, comrades... and beyond... will never know what hit them.

(They will probably hear it first.) 😂

Every hero has an origin story... and every creator evolves. 🤖🔨

When I started Work Hard Cosplay, all I needed was a simple black-and-white robot logo. It represented the beginning of an idea a passion for bringing characters to life.

Since then, that passion has grown into something much bigger.

Countless hours of cutting EVA foam, 3D printing, sanding, painting, sewing, problem-solving, learning new techniques, making mistakes, and starting again have shaped not just the costumes I create, but the person behind them.

So it felt like the brand deserved to evolve too.

The new logo isn't just a robot anymore.

It's a maker!

A robot crafting armour at a workbench, representing what Work Hard Cosplay has always been about: creating, building, learning, and never being afraid to take on the next challenge. It doesn't represent one character it represents every character, every project, and every late night in the workshop.

This isn't a rebrand because I wanted something different.

It's a metamorphosis.

A symbol of where Work Hard Cosplay started, where it is today, and where it's heading next.

Thank you to everyone who's followed my journey so far. Whether you've liked a post, shared advice, stopped to chat at a convention, or supported one of my builds, you've helped shape this community.

Here's to the next chapter.

They say clothes make the man.

They're wrong.

The city does.

Still... you've got to dress for the job.

The mask? Keeps the fear where it belongs.

A black turtleneck. Warm enough for long nights. Quiet enough not to ask questions.

Leather trench coat. It's seen enough rain to know the difference between weather... and trouble.

Leather trousers. Built to keep moving when the city's trying to knock you down.

Leather gloves. You leave enough fingerprints in this line of work without adding your own.

Combat boots. Every step reminds the streets that justice is still walking them.

It's not about looking like a hero.

It's about becoming a shadow that criminals never see coming.

The city doesn't need another celebrity.

It needs someone willing to disappear into the darkness... and come back carrying hope.

And tonight...

The shadows have a new Spider.

Waits for another poor soul to make the wrong choice.

I've been piecing myself together one part at a time. A trench coat. A fedora. Gloves worn thin by justice. Then came the face... fresh off the press. Funny thing, wearing a mask. It doesn't hide who you are. It reminds you.

Today the last piece finally arrived.

The mask.

Now all that's left is to suit up and see if the shadows still remember my name.

I've got a feeling today's going to be one of those black-and-white kind of days.

Stay tuned...

The city deserves a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.

Even if it never knows he's there.

COMRADES… it has arrived. 💥

The beard.
Not just a beard… but THE beard.

Forged in the fires of craftsmanship by the mighty , this prosthetic masterpiece is worthy of a true Soviet super soldier!

My current beard? Respectable. Honourable.
But this… this is next level heroism.

Soon, I will shave.
Yes… sacrifices must be made for greatness.
And then I will glue this glorious creation to my face and become…

MORE Red Guardian than ever before. 😎

These are only teasers, comrades.
You are not yet ready for full power of this beard.

I will arrive at future events with facial hair so magnificent, even David Harbour will say,
‘This man… he understands beard.’
