We had so much fun taking part in today’s Princes Risborough Young Farmers Charity Road Run. It was a brilliant day bringing together farmers, local businesses and residents to celebrate the strength of our rural community and the industries that keep it running.

The run travelled through Thame, Chinnor and Mid Buckinghamshire, including Bledlow, Princes Risborough, Longwick and Haddenham, and it was fantastic to see so many people out supporting along the route. Thank you to everyone who waved, cheered and donated. All proceeds went to two excellent causes: Thames Valley Air Ambulance and the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Physiotherapy General Fund.

The event was so well organised and a huge thank you to those organisers and volunteers.
Events like this highlight how vital our farmers and local commercial industries are, not only to food production and the local economy, but to the wider services and communities they sustain.

With colder weather on the way next week, it’s a good time to check in on your heating, and on neighbours or relatives who might need support.

UKIFDA’s Winter Heating Checklist 2025 recommends:

• Ordering heating oil before the rush
• Checking tanks and access areas
• Keeping boilers serviced
• Using flexible payment plans if times are tight (ask us about payment plans)
• Registering older residents (75+) for the Cold Weather Priority scheme so they get priority deliveries in freezing conditions
