We've recently introduced a cardboard conversion machine that transforms used cardboard boxes into protective packaging material for outgoing shipments. Not every investment in the warehouse is about bigger machinery or faster processes. Sometimes it's about finding smarter ways to reduce waste.

Instead of disposing of cardboard and bringing in additional packaging materials, we're able to reuse what we already have on site to create cushioning for components during transport.

The converted cardboard absorbs shocks, cushions fragile items and helps prevent movement inside shipping cartons, while supporting our efforts to reduce waste across the business.

It's a simple change, but one that's helping us make better use of the materials already passing through our warehouse.

Every three years, the can making industry gathers in Essen for Metpack. One of the key events for machinery builders, can manufacturers and suppliers across food & beverage, aerosol and decorative metal packaging.

As an active supplier into the sector, ICP attended again this year alongside our colleagues at Goizper Industrial. Representing the team were Neil, Mike and Pawel, meeting customers, partners and familiar faces from across the industry.

On display at the booth were solutions built for the demands of modern can making operations, including:
Hydraulic clutch brake systems
Pneumatic clutch brake / flywheel packaged assemblies for bodymakers
Smart G clutch brake monitoring technology

Monitoring and condition insight is becoming an increasingly important conversation in the sector. Customers are looking not just for clutch brake performance, but better visibility of equipment condition, reliability and maintenance planning across the wider machine.

Good conversations and encouraging signs of ICP’s growing presence within the can making sector.

When an application needs high torque transmission, compact design and dependable engagement, the clutch selection becomes pretty important. That’s where Monninghoff clutch solutions come into the conversation.

Available in pneumatic and electromagnetic configurations, the range includes tooth clutches and multiple-disc clutches suited to a wide variety of industrial applications.

Depending on the requirement, they can offer:
✓ Positive torque transmission without slip
✓ Compact installation dimensions
✓ Reliable shifting performance
✓ Suitability for harsh or oil-running environments

From high-speed switching duties through to demanding industrial machinery, different applications call for different clutch designs. Getting that selection right can make a big difference to reliability and machine performance.

If you're reviewing a clutch application or looking for an alternative solution, speak to the team about the Monninghoff range.

It’s been a busy couple of months for the team, with ICP exhibiting across multiple industries and sectors throughout the UK and Europe. Recently, we’ve attended:
✓ WindEurope in Madrid
✓ All Energy in Glasgow
✓ MACH Exhibition in Birmingham
✓ METPACK in Essen

Each show has brought different conversations, but the same common themes of reducing downtime, improving reliability, extending equipment life and finding practical engineering support when problems arise.

It’s been great to spend time face-to-face with customers, suppliers and industry partners rather than just over email or Teams calls.

We’re already planning ahead for future tradeshows & exhibitions.

Where should ICP go next?

Heavy-duty braking systems don’t get much margin for error, especially in crane and material handling applications where reliability and stopping performance are critical.

These Sibre electromagnetic thruster brake assemblies recently arrived ready for supply into demanding industrial applications.

The range is designed for environments where braking systems are working under high loads, repeated cycles and harsh operating conditions, including:
✓ Container cranes
✓ Hoists
✓ Conveyors
✓ Material handling systems

The TEXU twin caliper setup in particular is widely used in crane applications where controlled braking and emergency stopping capability are essential.

Alongside supply, we also support customers with replacement parts, refurbishment and technical support across a wide range of industrial braking systems.

We had a good few days at Metpack in Essen earlier this month, catching up with customers, partners and others across the can making industry.

Mike, Neil and Pawel were over at the show alongside the Goizper team, with plenty of positive conversations throughout the event and a noticeable increase in UK visitors stopping by the stand this year.

As always, it was a great opportunity to discuss the challenges manufacturers are facing around reliability, uptime and ongoing support for press and production equipment.

Mechanical presses put huge demand on clutch and brake systems, especially in high-cycle applications where repeatability and reliability matter every shift. At MACH this year, we showcased a range of Goizper pneumatic and hydraulic clutch and brake solutions designed specifically for metal forming, pressing and stamping applications.

The range covers everything from pneumatic multi-disc clutches through to hydraulic safety brakes, with options suited to both standalone and combined clutch-brake setups depending on the application.

Whether it’s a new installation, replacement project or ongoing support for existing machinery, we work closely with customers to match the right solution to the application.

If you’re reviewing clutch or brake performance on press equipment, speak to our team to discuss the options available.

When something goes wrong, it’s important people know how to react in the moment. That’s what our recent fire safety training was focused on.

We ran through the essentials as a team:
✓ Identifying fire risks and how to prevent them
✓ Understanding detection systems and alarms
✓ Evacuation procedures
✓ How to correctly use fire extinguishers
✓ What to do if you discover a fire

It’s easy to treat this as a box-ticking exercise, but in reality it’s about making sure everyone knows how to respond quickly, safely and correctly if ever needed.

It's been a busy first day for the ICP Wind team at the All-Energy Exhibition and Conference 2026 in Glasgow.

There’s been lots of interest on the stand today, with visitors speaking to Will and Nabhi about how ICP Wind supports wind operations and maintenance projects through our caliper brake solutions, refurbishment services and extensive stockholding for replacement parts.

We’ll be back again tomorrow, so if you’re attending the show, come and visit us on Stand F48.

We look forward to seeing you there.
