As Men's Health Week comes to an end, it's worth remembering that looking after our health shouldn't be limited to a single week in the calendar.

One of the resources that we will be making available to our team is the Men's Health Forum's Man Manual, a practical guide covering everything from physical fitness and mental wellbeing to common health concerns and preventative care.

It's a simple reminder that small actions, regular check-ups and access to good information can all play a part in helping us stay healthy and well.

Clean Air Day reminds us that the quality of the air we breathe is influenced by the decisions we make about our buildings every day.

From heating and ventilation strategies to energy efficiency, controls optimisation and building performance monitoring, well-managed buildings can help create healthier indoor environments while reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions.

Across our businesses, we work with customers to improve the way buildings operate through intelligent BEMS, data analytics, energy management and engineering expertise. Better visibility of building performance enables more informed decisions, helping organisations balance comfort, efficiency and sustainability.

On Clean Air Day, we're recognising the important role that technology, data and skilled engineers play in creating buildings that work better for both people and the environment.

This year’s World Environment Day focuses on climate change and the signals the world is receiving about the future of our environment. The theme is a reminder that progress is driven not only by ambition, but by practical action and informed decision-making.

Across our businesses – System Five, analytics4energy and 4energy group - we help organisations better understand, manage and optimise building performance through building controls, energy data, analytics and specialist engineering expertise.

Whether it's improving operational efficiency, reducing energy consumption, identifying opportunities for optimisation, or helping clients make more informed decisions about their buildings, we believe that good data and good engineering can make a meaningful difference.

On World Environment Day, we're proud of the role our teams play every day in helping customers operate smarter, more efficient and more sustainable buildings.

System Five, a 4energy group company, were happy to be invited to visit the Belimo Experience Centre, continuing to strengthen our knowledge across valve and control solutions.

Sessions like this are a valuable opportunity to step back from day-to-day delivery and focus on how evolving technologies, such as EPIV and Energy Valve, can be applied more effectively in real-world environments.

Ongoing learning like this helps us bring added value across both projects and service, particularly when it comes to optimisation and long-term performance.

Great to welcome representatives from valued clients Borahurst Limited www.borahurst.com and Maze Engineering Ltd www.maze-engineering.co.uk to our offices this week for a collaborative session looking at BEMS and the wider smart buildings industry.

We were also pleased to host an accredited CPD presentation delivered by Andrew Meek from Trend Control Systems, joined by Adele Thon, which prompted some valuable and lively discussion and knowledge sharing.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such an engaging session. We hope the System Five and Trend goodie bags were a welcome bonus on the way out too!

4energy group, System Five and analytics4energy are proud to support Will Pates as he takes on an incredible challenge this month, walking the full length of Hadrian’s Wall in aid of Veterans Coastal Retreats.

From 31 May to 5 June, Will, a Coldstream Guards veteran with 24 years of service, will cover 135km from Carlisle to Newcastle to raise awareness and support for veterans and their families facing mental and physical health challenges.

Will’s “Pull Up a SANDBAG” initiative is all about bringing people together through conversation, shared experiences and the positive impact of the outdoors on mental wellbeing. It’s a powerful message and a fantastic cause.

Veterans Coastal Retreats provides veterans and their families with opportunities to rest, reconnect and recover through supportive coastal breaks and outdoor activities, helping to create space for healing and family time.

We’re very happy to support Will’s efforts and would encourage our colleagues, clients and connections to find out more about this brilliant charity and, if possible, support the challenge.

You can support Will’s fundraising challenge here:

Best of luck to Will and everyone involved 👏👏👏

World FM Day 2026 🌍

Facilities Management has always been about keeping buildings running effectively, but the role continues to evolve as technology, sustainability targets and operational expectations move forward together.

This year’s World FM Day theme, “FM: Cultivating Belonging in the Built Environment”, highlights the importance of creating spaces that are not only safe and productive, but also efficient, comfortable and responsive to the people using them.

Across 4energy group, System Five and analytics4energy, we work closely with FM professionals to help deliver smarter BEMS strategies, connected systems, data visibility and actionable insight, helping FM teams make faster, better-informed decisions around performance, energy use, maintenance and occupant comfort.

Happy World Facilities Management Day to our FM clients and everyone working across Facilities Management and the wider built environment industry.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, led by the Mental Health Foundation.

The 2026 theme is ACTION, a reminder that small actions can make a real difference to someone’s wellbeing.

Across engineering, construction and building services, work can be demanding. Long hours, pressure, travel and responsibility can all take their toll, which is why supportive teams and open conversations matter.

At 4energy group, System Five and analytics4energy, we know that looking after people is just as important as delivering projects, maintaining systems and improving building performance.
Support is available through organisations including:

✅ Lighthouse Charity – emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support for construction workers and their families

✅ Mates in Mind – practical guidance and support focused on improving mental wellbeing across construction, engineering and related industries

Sometimes the most important action is simply checking in with someone.

A great evening at last night’s Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) Awards and a proud moment for everyone involved in the LightFi sustainability project.

While we didn’t take home the award, being recognised as finalists in the Technical Innovation of the Year – Projects category was a fantastic achievement for the System Five team and 4energy group.

A big thank you to Dr Alex Bak and Dr Matthew Taylor from LightFi for their collaboration and shared commitment throughout the project.

Congratulations as well to our client Platinum, who also achieved finalist recognition in the new Sustainability Strategy Champion Award category.

Events like the BCIA Awards are an important reminder of the innovation, expertise and forward-thinking taking place across the building controls and BEMS industry.

Thank you to the BCIA and the event organisers for another excellent evening, and congratulations to all finalists and winners.

We recently attended a Commercial Awareness training session delivered by Redfern Contract Consultants rrclimited.com, focused on managing progress under pressure.

One of the key reminders was that successful project delivery rarely comes down to complicated contractual arguments or high-level theory. More often, it’s the fundamentals that make the difference.
As highlighted during the session:

“Commercial outcomes are rarely lost because people make bad decisions, they’re lost because people aren’t given the structure to make the right ones early enough.”

At System Five and 4energy group, we pride ourselves on delivering projects of every scale, from relatively straightforward works through to large, highly complex multi-million-pound projects.

Regardless of size, the same principles apply: strong communication, disciplined processes, accurate reporting, and good record-keeping help ensure issues are identified early and projects remain on track.

Many thanks to Redfern Contract Consultants for delivering an engaging and highly practical session.
