Gloucester City Mission | Memorial Garden
Members of the Montel team recently supported Gloucester City Mission with its Memorial Garden, providing workforce, materials and equipment to help bring the space to life.
The Memorial Garden came together through a shared team effort, covering the sourcing of materials, coordination and completion of the works. The team also had the opportunity to hear directly from Gloucester City Mission about the support it provides, how lives are changed and some of the journeys of the people it helps, giving greater meaning to what they were there to achieve.
This initiative forms part of Montel’s social value commitments on the Black Dog Way scheme, delivered on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council. It gave our team the opportunity to contribute something meaningful beyond the highway works, supporting a local charity that makes a genuine difference to people across Gloucester.
The finished Memorial Garden will provide a space to reflect, remember lost loved ones and find peace - something Gloucester City Mission described as having previously been “just a dream”.
The project was also made possible through the generous contributions of Allstone, Boels, Civils Store and Bradfords, who donated materials and resources free of charge, alongside the support of FJ Civils.
Thank you to everyone involved in making it happen and to Gloucester City Mission for making the team feel so welcome throughout. We’re proud to have played a part in bringing the Memorial Garden to life and creating a space that will mean so much to the people Gloucester City Mission supports.
