🤝Project Handover - New MRI Facility Wexford General Hospital🤝

We are proud to have recently delivered a striking New Multi-Storey MRI Facility to Wexford General Hospital and to our clients in the HSE.

Well done to TOBC's Management teams of Pat, Alan and Frank and to all involved on this highly technical infill project, constructed within a live acute Healthcare setting, requiring careful modifications and connections to the existing hospital fabric and services, and located directly adjacent to the Hospital's busy Main Entrance.

Our Teams' long history of delivering complex healthcare projects on live hospital campuses for many years has been a considerable aid to all on this successful project.

Our thanks to our subcontractors, suppliers, HSE Staff & Management and the Design Team members for their collaboration at all stages of the works.

🏗️ Boosting Apprenticeships in Ireland and the South East 🏗️

Tom O'Brien, our Managing Director and current Chairman of the South Eastern Branch of the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) was pleased to attend the launch of the South East Regional Skills Forum (SERSF) Report, ‘The Plastering Trade in Ireland – Demand, Supply and Future Skill Needs 2026 - 2010'.

The report outlines a number of practical measures aimed at boosting interest in plastering apprenticeships both in the South East and nationwide.

Key recommendations include:
- increasing awareness of plastering careers among secondary school students
- reducing the length of apprenticeship training, and
- broadening the availability of training centres across the country.

Ireland’s construction industry requires a strong and growing pipeline of skilled plasterers, so congratulations to everyone involved in producing this valuable research and its insights.

📸 St. Senans Primary School - Enniscorthy Co. Wexford 📸

We’re proud to share a selection of newly captured professional photos of one of our recently completed school projects, delivered to the Board of Management and for the Department of Education and Youth.

While the images showcase a modern, high-quality learning environment, they also highlight a growing challenge across the construction industry — delivering exceptional spaces in increasingly complex conditions.

From tight timelines and evolving design requirements to supply chain pressures and sustainability targets, major public projects like this don’t come without their hurdles.

Hence, these photos represent more than just a finished building; they reflect the collaboration, resilience, and problem-solving that went into bringing it to life.

We’re incredibly proud of our Site & Management teams and thankful to our Design Team partners who made this project possible, and of the positive impact this facility will have on students, staff, and the wider community in Enniscorthy.

Tom O'Brien Construction have been delivering quality educational sector projects since the early 1970's and we look forward to delivering many more in the years to come.
