MUSUBI collaborated with French textile designer Adeline Klam to create Hime Musubi a collection that blends traditional Japanese patterns with unique and vibrant color combinations.

A Story Woven with Nagasaki's Traditions

In Nagasaki, kites are known as "Hata". This furoshiki design brings together two beloved symbols of the region: the iconic "Nagasaki Hata", featuring the traditional "Morning Sun on the Wave" pattern, and "Kujira no Shiobuki" (Whale Spout) , a charming Kyodo-gangu (traditional Japanese folk toy).

"Kujira no Shiobuki" is inspired by the enormous 13-meter whale float that appears in the famous "Nagasaki Kunchi Festival". The papier-mâché toy recreates the traditional whaling culture of the Edo period and even features a playful mechanism that sprays water from the whale's blowhole. Designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan, the festival offers a vibrant glimpse into Nagasaki's rich cultural heritage.

Its simple color palette and timeless design blend beautifully into any interior. Made from soft fabric, it can also be worn as a stylish scarf, bringing a touch of Japanese craftsmanship into everyday life.
