The crew at The Water Cone Ltd is proud to present our latest innovation in drinking water solutions: The Barrier Buddy Range.
Developed after years of working in staging and barrier setups across New Zealand and overseas, the Barrier Buddy range
was designed to solve a persistent problem: the lack of reliable water supply and wastewater control in event environments. Without proper systems, crews often faced wet, muddy, and slippery conditions that compromised both safety and efficiency. The Barrier Buddy range eliminates these challenges by providing portable, practical water solutions tailored to live events.

The Barrier Buddy Range
Our range consists of three key units, each designed to meet different event requirements:

Barrier Buddy PLUS
• Includes a water cooler, pump, tap, sink, drainage tray, and a 70L grey water tank.
• Operates with 15L bottled water and requires only a power supply—no temporary water lines needed.
• Provides chilled water while safely collecting wastewater to prevent leaks and damage.
• Portable design housed in a road case, ideal for touring rigs.
• Optional extensions allow overflow management for festivals or long duration events.

Barrier Buddy (Original)
• Offers the same features as the PLUS model but connects directly to an external water supply (town water, tank water, or our Water Hub).
• Ensures wastewater is collected and discharged away from working areas.

The Water Hub
• A dedicated water supply unit with two coolers working in tandem.
• Provides a continuous outlet to support the Barrier Buddy (original) system when no local water supply is available.
• Also, the ability to connect to our other products, such as, The Water Cone and the Mini Cone, or connect to any given device that requires water.

We were delighted to be invited to install our Barrier Buddy at Eden Park to support the large number of site, staging, and production crews associated with the Metallica concert. As these crews work to a tight schedule for the benefit of the concertgoers, hydration is essential to keep them focused and safe.
Lastly, thanks to the family for stepping up and helping in making this get to site.
