Our Maraetai renovation is deep into the structural phase. Original brickwork assessed, new steel going in, and the home's bones being reinforced before any of the visible work begins.

🏆SHELLY PARK RENOVATION | TOP 100 IN NEW ZEALAND 🏆

We're thrilled to share that our Shelly Park Renovation has been selected in the Top 100 Homes in New Zealand for the National 2026 Registered Master Builders House of the Year Competition, following Gold and the Auckland Category Win for our region.

This one was a challenge, and one we took on with determination and a fair bit of problem solving. A cliff site above the sea, reachable from the road only by cable car. Every material came down a 350kg car or across Cockle Bay at low tide by barge. Concrete pumped 100 metres down the hillside.

What started as a small repair job on a cold, damp house became an 18 month restoration into a warm, dry, four-bedroom home. Considerably bigger, on exactly the same footprint.

It's a real thrill to add this to our previous House of the Year successes, with Gold and a Top 100 placing for our Maraetai New Build in 2023, Gold for our Beachlands Renovation, and Silver for The Black House in 2021. A sign our team keeps raising the bar on every project.

Thank you to our clients, who lived on site through all of it. To Reginald Baker, whose design turned a repair into something extraordinary. And to our amazing team and our subbies, who took on a challenging site and never cut a corner.

Shelly Park now goes through to national judging ahead of the Gala in November.
