We have complete some challenging projects here at Tascon, however its very rare that one comes close to this one.

Constructing these headwalls on Transmission Gully in the middle of winter took some grit, determination and commitment from the team.

Everything was against us.

But we had to be done before the summer works period.

Work Do 2025 Done and Dusted

We run our work dos on a “one on, one off” system, every second year we treat the boys to something a bit different.

This year’s trip was a flight from Kapiti to Boomrock for a day of lunch, laughs, and clay target shooting.

It was Te Naera’s first time in a chopper, so that was the highlight for him. The others were all about the clays, with Walter nabbing second place behind Gregor the sharp shooter.

Plenty of stories from the night to keep everyone entertained for months to come.

A few months back the boys smashed out this project, and it still deserves a shout.

We built a 6–7m tall MSE wall running about 60m along a new development.
The cool part? That one wall created roughly 200–300m² of brand-new usable land for the site.

More room. More options. More value.
Serious bang for buck.

Projects like this are great to experience, when you can literally create land out of thin air with the right team and the right system.

The most efficient way to gain land you think?

Moa Point Switchroom Foundations – A proper team effort.

Working on this one alongside Groundfix has been one of the best examples of two companies solving problems together on the fly.

Our scope was to construct the foundation for a new switchroom – sounds simple on paper, but this job came with its fair share of hurdles:
🔹 Design changes mid-stream
🔹 Logistical challenges getting gear and materials in
🔹 Weather delays (of course)
🔹 Tight deadlines from start to finish
Despite all that, both teams pulled together, stayed solution-focused, and got the job done. No egos – just good communication and shared grit.

Big thanks to the crew at Groundfix. Would team up again in a heartbeat.

Houghton Bay Reserve 🌦️

What started as a tidy little upgrade turned into a bit of a battle.

This project involved refreshing the old playground at Houghton Bay Reserve – giving it a new lease on life and making the space safe, fresh, and ready for locals to enjoy again.

But Mother Nature had other ideas… One minute it was raining, the next sunny. Just as the ground dried out? Rain again. Classic winter civil conditions – wet underfoot, constant weather watching, and playing the waiting game between pours.

Despite the ups and downs, the team kept pushing through and got the job across the line. Looks good, feels good – and we’re stoked to have been a part of giving the community something fresh.

All wrapped up ✅

We recently completed a set of cantilevered steps for the Rutherford Clinic in Thorndon, Wellington – and we’re stoked with how it’s come together.

This one had its challenges, as most tight urban builds do, but the team pushed through and delivered a clean, sharp finish that we’re proud to stand behind.

Big thanks to Focus Projects for bringing us in on this one – always a pleasure working with good operators.

We’re excited to share that we’ve just completed the installation of a state-of-the-art car park safety barrier system at a new warehouse facility in Wellington. 🏢🚚
In a bustling yard where trucks are constantly on the move, these new barriers will help to keep vehicle incidents to a minimum.

Being in lockdown certaintly gives us some spare time. So...its time to reflect on some past projets!

We have recently completed our Seawall project in Wellington. We had to pattern match the existing wall, then get a formliner made with the matched rock pattern. These patterns were then imprinted into the concrete precast panels.

With the road being so tight, the panels required placement during a road closure after hours.

The team worked tirelessly to get the panels placed. Battling the cold, the tides, and the mind through the night.

Quite a tricky little project this one was.
