I often wonder what that young fella growing up on the streets of Raumanga would think if he could see where we are today❤️
Back then, I never imagined I’d own a business. Never imagined I’d have people working alongside me, or that I’d be building something I could genuinely call my own.
Truth is, I didn’t really know what the future held for me. I was just another young Māori boy trying to find his way in the world.
And now, looking back at these old photos, I wish I could sit down with that young fella and tell him a few things.
That life isn’t always going to be easy. That he’s going to make mistakes, doubt himself, have some bloody hard days and learn a lot of lessons along the way.
But also that he’s going to meet some incredible people. That he’ll have people who believe in him, even when he doesn’t believe in himself. And that one day, he’ll look around and realise he’s built something he’s genuinely proud of.
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the people who’ve stood beside me, backed me and helped me along the way. Especially my whānau and my partner, who’s believed in me from the beginning.
I’m proud of where I come from. Always have been, always will be. Rautown till I die🔥
And if there’s one thing I’d tell that young fella today, it’s this:
You don’t have to have your whole life figured out, bro. Just keep showing up, keep learning, be good to people and never forget where you came from.
Have we made it?
I don’t know if I’ll ever feel like we’ve completely made it.
But I know that younger version of me would be pretty bloody proud of how far we’ve come.
And the best part?
We’re only getting started, brother!❤️
Always Pushing Forward🦍
Ayy P*e Eff!🦍
