On July 30, participants of the CARE for SEA Megacities Workshop visited Marikina City for a courtesy call with Mayor Marjorie Ann "Maan" Teodoro and a tour of the city. During the visit, the goals and objectives of the CARE for SEA Megacities Workshop were presented, after which Mayor Teodoro shared Marikina City's environmental and climate resilience initiatives. The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss local climate action and urban resilience efforts. 🌱

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Final Workshop of CARE for SEA Megacities held in Manila 🌏🏙️

From July 28-30, 2026, the final workshop of the “Climatic hazard Assessment to enhance Resilience against climate Extremes for Southeast Asian megacities (CARE for SEA megacities)” was held in Manila. The project is the latest activity under the Coordinated Regional Climate Downscaling Experiment Southeast Asia (CORDEX-SEA) collaboration.

With support from the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) and organized by the Manila Observatory, the workshop brought together CARE for SEA megacities collaborators and the CORDEX-SEA community to present the latest research findings and provided a venue for the launch of the online data communication platform, including a demonstration of its use.

Participants also took part in interactive activities on creating climate stories and designing climate-resilient cities, organized in collaboration with My Climate Risk (MCR)-Ateneo and the WCRP Academy.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Manila Observatory joined Caritas Australia, Catholic Relief Services, and the City Government of Tagbilaran for the MOA Signing and Turnover of Automated Weather Stations (AWS) to Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

The ceremonial turnover was part of the Anticipatory Action Learning Event: Tagbilaran City Experience, centered on the theme "Pagbansaybansay sa mga Sayo nga Paglihok: Alang sa Mas Andam ug Lig-on nga Bohol". 🌤️🌧️
