Antimicrobial resistance is one of the greatest scientific challenges of our time - and solving it will require new ways of thinking.

That’s why we’re excited to share that Dubravko Jelić will be presenting at the 5th Symposium on Anti-Infectives Drug Discovery in London:
🎤 Targeted Protein Degradation for Antimicrobial Resistance: A New Frontier in Antibiotic Development
📅 2 June | 🕑 2:00 PM BST

Targeted protein degradation is rapidly emerging as a transformative strategy in drug discovery - with the first PROTAC recently approved by the FDA (Vepdegestrant). Applying this approach to AMR represents exactly the kind of bold innovation the field urgently needs.

If you're working in anti-infectives, exploring new modalities, or simply curious about where antibiotic development is heading - this is a talk worth your time.

We'll also be exhibiting at the symposium (June 1–2) - come meet our team (Alicja Małysiak, Henry Robinson, Dubravko Jelić and Linda Tomašković) and talk drug discovery.

See you in London!

We are proud to announce that Selvita has successfully renewed its Crédit d'Impôt Recherche (CIR) accreditation, reaffirming our status as a recognized R&D partner for French companies and investors.

The CIR is one of Europe's most attractive fiscal incentives, strengthening France's position as a top destination for innovation and foreign investment.

What this means for our French partners 🇫🇷:
- Outsource R&D to Selvita with full CIR compliance
- Recover up to 30% of eligible R&D costs, directly boosting cash flow
- Access Selvita's multidisciplinary teams across drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, biology, and DMPK — without sacrificing scientific quality
- Benefit from 20+ years of expertise and a track record of successful collaborations across biotech and pharma

This renewal reflects our ongoing commitment to scientific excellence — and to delivering real financial value for our partners in France and beyond.

Reach out to learn how your company can benefit from CIR-eligible R&D with Selvita.

As announced in our recent grant project launch, one of the key innovations developed with the Jagiellonian University Medical College within the project “Increasing the potential and competitiveness of the Polish economy in the field of innovative therapies and medicines of the future, through the development of the Research and Development Center and the development of research methods and tools, as a response to social needs in the area of public health” focuses on advanced research methods for organic compounds.

As a result of this activity, we will be able to offer new drug discovery services through a process that enables the development of therapeutic compounds containing a chemical element not currently used in medicines. This is particularly important given the compounds’ therapeutic potential, patentability, and, above all, the opportunity to bring new, effective therapies to patients.
These compounds show strong therapeutic potential for cancers, inflammatory diseases, including neuroinflammatory disorders, and autoimmune diseases, areas where effective treatment options remain urgently needed.

This innovation includes the development of novel synthetic methods, advanced purification techniques, biological activity assessment, and pharmacokinetic and toxicological evaluation, forming a comprehensive R&D program. Follow us for upcoming updates.

The project is implemented under the European Funds for a Modern Economy Programme 2021–2027, Action 1.1 FENG – SMART Path.

Bioavailability is not only a scientific challenge, but also a regulatory expectation.

Authorities such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency require clear evidence that a product delivers sufficient exposure to the active substance.

For generic drugs, this means demonstrating bioequivalence.
For innovative products, providing consistent and reliable in vivo performance.

Dissolution testing and IVIVC are key tools supporting this process, helping to:
• justify formulation design
• assess product comparability and
• support regulatory submissions

In our latest blog, we explore how these elements translate into regulatory expectations in practice.

Have you ever wondered what it actually takes to bring a medicine to a patient?

We're thrilled to support Pint of Science as a sponsor for its very first edition in Kraków (May 18–20) - a global initiative that brings science out of the lab and straight to your table.

This year's topics span all the way from cosmology to drug discovery - and on May 20, we'll be focusing on drug development particularly:
💊 How drugs are designed
🧪 Who keeps clinical trials safe
🧫 Whether cell models could replace animal testing

At Selvita, educating and inspiring the next generation of scientists is something we're truly passionate about - and events like this are exactly where that passion comes to life.

Whether you're a researcher, a curious mind, or simply someone who has ever wondered where the pills we take come from - you're warmly welcome to join us!

On May 5, 2026, our team took part in the symposium “Translational Research of Brain Diseases: Neuroinflammation and Biomarkers”, organized within the framework of our EU-funded 4BrainFlames project. Together with the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, with Prof. Goran Šimić serving as the project lead, and University Hospital Centre Zagreb, we are working on the discovery and validation of biomarkers in four major brain diseases to enable earlier diagnosis, improved disease monitoring, and individualized therapeutic decisions.

The symposium focused on the role of neuroinflammation in brain disorders and its potential for biomarker discovery and personalized treatment strategies. Our colleagues Marija Podolski and Sanja Musladin gave engaging talks on our work within the project: the analysis of extracellular vesicles and single-cell RNA sequencing from both plasma and cerebrospinal fluid. Congratulations to both of them and to all other speakers of the symposium!

Thank you to everyone who joined our webinar on LC–MS in Host Cell Protein (HCP) Analysis!

We appreciate your engagement and the insightful questions shared during the session.

We discussed how moving beyond total HCP measurement can provide deeper, protein-level insight to support risk-based decision-making in biopharmaceutical development.

A special thank you to our speaker, Oliwia Bocheńska, for sharing practical perspectives on LC–MS implementation, HCP monitoring strategies, and evolving regulatory expectations.

If you were unable to attend or would like to revisit the discussion, the recording is now available on demand: https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0vkh8_0
