Over two weekends in August, a handful of our colleagues took on the HYROX challenge in Chengdu and Bangkok — pushing their limits, getting stronger and, most importantly, having each other’s backs along the way.

We ended August off with a celebration of the completion of Pasir Ris Mixed-use Development, comprising Pasir Ris 8 and Pasir Ris Mall which are seamlessly integrated into the existing public transport network that serves the laidback residential town. To mark this milestone, our Charity Dinner was held on 31 August, bringing together our project team and business partners to do good for the community.

We raised over $100,000 for KidSTART Singapore Limited, a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering low-income families to build strong foundations for their children and foster positive child development outcomes. These funds will support Healthy with KidSTART, an initiative cultivating healthy eating habits in young children and their families through education and resources.

What is Electronic Waste (E-Waste)?
📻 Items such as laptops, monitors, printers, keyboards, mice, cables, chargers, and even power banks that need to be disposed of safely.

Why does E-Waste matter?
♻️ E-waste can contain materials that should not enter the general waste stream.
♻️ Proper Recycling helps recover useful materials, reducing the need to extract and process new raw materials and thereby lowering overall carbon footprint.
♻️ Responsible disposal reduces environmental impact, such as preventing contamination from heavy metals and hazardous materials present in e-waste.
♻️ It supports better waste tracking and accountability.

What can you do?
💚 Do not throw electronic items into general waste bins. Look out for designated e-waste collection points or contact the relevant department for proper disposal.

As a problem solver, Deputy Project Manager Derrick Lim enjoys the dynamic nature of his job and relishes having fresh and new challenges every day.

Delegating tasks and allocating manpower to achieve daily targets, coordinating with subcons, and planning with foresight of potential obstacles make up his day. He cherishes the connections made with everyone he meets on the job, often inspiring his colleagues to take charge of their responsibilities and supporting them whenever needed.

Since his promotion from a senior site engineer, he has been more focused on nurturing his engineers and supervisors, guiding them to meet the standards which he had previously set for himself, encouraging them to go above and beyond what is expected of them for their personal fulfilment.

A big shoutout to our team members and business partners who conquered 20km on our Woh Hup Engineering Fundraising Walk on 31 July!

Kicking off from Woodlands Checkpoint Extension site office and pushing through to P105 site office, the six groups did it in support of the Rare Disease Fund (RDF). With a 1-to-1 matching by Woh Hup, we managed to raise more than $300,000 this year. The government matches $3 for every dollar donated to RDF, multiplying any contributions to make an ever bigger impact on the patients in need.
