The Board of Directors and senior management of Summit Power International extend their sincere gratitude to Mr Toshiro Kudama for his valued contribution and dedicated service as JERA's representative on the Board since inception of the Company's partnership with JERA Co., Inc. Mr Kudama will retire on 30 June 2026 after many years of distinguished service.

With effect from 1 July 2026, we are pleased to welcome Mr Tetsuma Sugihara, General Manager, GEP Strategy Section, Platform Business Division of JERA Co., Inc., as JERA's incoming representative on the Board (pictured to the left of Chairman Mr Muhammed Aziz Khan). We look forward to his support and partnership in the years ahead.

This transition reflects the continuity and enduring strength of Summit Power International's strategic partnership with JERA Co., Inc. since JERA's investment in 2019. The partnership has supported the Company's growth and long-term vision, and JERA's continued commitment underscores the shared confidence in Summit Power International's future.

Eid Al Adha Mubarak!

About the Mosque: Originally established in 1972, Kalakoir Central Jame Mosque in Kalakoir, Gazipur has long served the local community as a place of prayer and unity. As part of community development initiatives, the mosque was later rebuilt into a modern two-storied structure with improved facilities through the support of the Summit Gazipur 464 MW Power Plant.

Prothom Alo received an honourable mention for Alor Pathshala in the ‘Best Public Relations or Community Service Campaign (National Brand)’ category at the ‘Global Media Awards 2026’, organised by the International News Media Association - INMA in Germany among 960 submissions from 274 media organisations across 46 countries.

The Alor Pathshala programme began in 2009. Schools were established in remote areas of the country where no educational institutions existed, and educational activities have since been carried out there under the name ‘Alor Pathshala’. The initiative receives full financial support from Summit Group and the Anjuman & Aziz Charitable Trust

At present, there are two Alor Pathshala schools in Rajshahi, and one each in Kurigram, Bhola, Naogaon, Teknaf, Bandarban and Lakshmipur. A total of 1,650 students are studying free of charge in these eight schools. Over the past 16 years, nearly 25,000 students have received education in these schools. In addition, 1,500 people have also received vocational training.

As escalating Middle East hostilities and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz rattle commodity markets, including natural gas, countries that rely on regional supplies, including Bangladesh, are seeking options to fend off shortages.

Muhammed Aziz Khan, chairman of Summit Group, spoke with S&P Global Energy Platts Editorial Lead Surabhi Sahu about the present geopolitical risks shaping the global LNG landscape and impacting the country's LNG supply and outlook. Khan also shared Summit's growth plans, including the company's entry into the country's data center market.

The Summit Group, headquartered in both Dhaka and Singapore, is among the largest Bangladeshi infrastructure conglomerates. The company has business interests in communication, trading, energy, power and shipping.
