Who says engineers and architects only build big things?

This year, the AMT team traded blueprints for playhouses at the 2026 Habitat for Humanity Playhouse Build! Armed with tools, creativity, and plenty of enthusiasm, our volunteers spent the day helping build playhouses for local children alongside other members of the community.

Events like this are a great reminder that building is about more than structures—it's about creating spaces that bring joy, strengthen communities, and make a lasting impact. We're honored to support an event that helps Habitat for Humanity continue its incredible work of providing affordable housing and opportunities for families throughout our region.

It's always exciting to see great design recognized.

The partial renovation of this home designed by AMT architect, Frank Heery, was recently featured in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, highlighting the transformation of a beloved family home into a space that feels both timeless and personal.

We're proud of the team behind this project and grateful to everyone involved especially interior designer, Whitney McGregor.

AMT was proud to sponsor and participate in the 2026 Legacy of Hope Golf Tournament in support of Downtown Ministries and their mission to serve the Athens community through outreach, mentorship, and essential resources.

It was a great day spent connecting with others in the community while supporting an organization making a meaningful local impact. We’re thankful for opportunities like this that bring people together for a great cause, and we’re especially glad Alex could represent the AMT team out on the course this year!

The AMT team is proud to support the Habitat for Humanity Playhouse Build as a sponsor. On April 25, our engineers and architects will volunteer their time and talents to design and construct custom playhouses inspired by children’s own sketches—bringing their ideas to life with creativity and care. Proceeds from the event will support land acquisition efforts, helping advance the next Habitat home in our community.

Congratulations to Inesa Gishto on 5 years with AMT!
Inesa is an Associate AIA with nearly 10 years of experience in architecture, both locally and internationally. She earned her first architecture degree in Albania in 2016 and went on to receive her Master of Architecture from Southern Illinois University.
At AMT, Inesa works alongside David Matheny, AIA, contributing to a range of residential and commercial projects. Her work is driven by a strong focus on sustainability and contemporary design. She has published research in sustainable architecture and has received several awards in design competitions, including most recently the Las Vegas Affordable Housing Challenge, where AMT was recognized as an honorable winner.
Outside of work, Inesa enjoys sharing espresso with friends, spending time with her daughter, traveling, and experimenting with baking.

The AMT team is thrilled to be a part of this project. Stay tuned for it's construction!

Metal + Petal has been working with Alpha Xi Delta at the University of Georgia on a multi-phase transformation of their home on historic Milledge Avenue.

Phase one—renovating the back apartments—was completed last summer. Now we move into the next chapter: a new 12,000-square-foot sorority house, designed with architect David Matheny.

The design is approved, contractors are being finalized, and construction begins this summer.

For Patterson Dental, AMT is leading civil design, rezoning coordination, and architectural revisions to bring a streamlined, functional site plan to life. From early planning through permit drawings, our team is proud to help turn vision into reality.
