RoboJackets A Georgia Tech student organization for competitive robotics, engaging in BattleBots, FIRST, RoboCup Hence our mission is effectively three-fold.

The RoboJackets is a group of Georgia Tech students, faculty, and alumni that aims to enhance the understanding of the field of robotics and its applications in depth of knowledge as well as to increase of the number of students exposed to it. We plan to carry out our mission through projects that correspond to the organization’s tenets of promotion, education and advancement. We strive to be a mu

ltifaceted organization that allows students to experience various aspects of robotics. Both depth and breadth are encouraged as this allows the students to work more collaboratively in a group environment as well as have the abilities to pursue projects on their own. Mission
Promotion:
Through presentation of the existing uses of robotics in both industry and the home, the areas of current research and the possibilities for further application we hope to show the practicality and versatility of the robotics applications as well as the viability of the pursuit of education and careers in its development. Education:
Through training workshops, competitive robotics, and student designed experimentation, the RoboJackets encourage the application and integration of concepts learned in their regular coursework as well as the understanding of how other disciplines contribute to the success of a project. Advancement:
Through development projects and student experimentation, the RoboJackets hope to expand both our organizational knowledge base, as well as that of the students involved and the robotics community.

We’d like to thank three of our sponsors, CubeMars, ODrive, and SMC Powers, for their support of our RoboNav team!

We chose CubeMars' AK45-36 and AK45-10 actuators for our new robotic arm because they offer easy control, high torque, and compact integration, making them a strong fit for precise motion in demanding environments. The attached CAD shows how we are integrating their actuators into our custom cycloidal gearbox at the arm’s elbow and shoulder.

ODrive Robotics is another proud sponsor of RoboNav providing high-performance motor control solutions for our Mars rover prototype. We are integrating their S1 motor controllers with our CubeMars actuators to enable robust and reliable control of our robotic arm.

We would also like to thank SMC Powers for sponsoring their GIM4310-36 robotic actuators, which we are integrating into our new swerve drive to power our rover’s drivetrain with agile and reliable steering control.

We hit the jackpot with our 2025–2026 leadership team! 🎰 With elections in just under 2 months, here are their main accomplishments so far:

President: Mukilan Karthikeyan — established industrial partnerships, strengthened RJ-SCC relationships, launched brand initiatives, a web development initiative, streamlined sponsorship, built a long-term development plan for the organization, and supported local VEX through volunteering and mentoring.

Vice President: Zane Pressley — supported Ri3D and high school competition goals, and standardized processes to launch new campus competitions this spring for BattleBots, RoboCup, RoboWrestling.

Treasurer: Brooklyn Heath — built infrastructure for long-term financial stability and led sponsorship fundraising efforts, raising tens of thousands this fall semester.

PR Chair: Angelina Rodriguez — built infrastructure for increased social media and large-scale livestreams, expanded merchandise, supported sponsorship fulfillment, and increased recruitment of women within the Georgia Tech community.

Shop Manager: Aaron Qu — improved shop quality, organization, and space, with efforts including a major renovation and organized cleanings.

Secretary: Zaid Hashmi — standardized room reservations, reduced conflicts, improved staff communication, and created a future onboarding guide to ensure ease of leadership transitions.

Outreach Chair: Ian Lamont — brought Ri3D under the RoboJackets umbrella and helped facilitate the success of the 72-hour event, and expanded our outreach impact across Georgia robotics.

We’d like to thank our sponsor, Kenesto, for their continued support of RoboNav! Our team relies on Kenesto’s cloud-based PDM platform to manage and collaborate on our SolidWorks designs for our Mars-style rover and drone.
