We’re excited to share another completed project in Baton Rouge!
Bonton recently wrapped up this segment of the River Road multi-use path, giving nearby residents a safer way to walk or bike into downtown and adding another connection to the city’s growing trail network.
The path connects into the Mississippi River Trail, which currently extends south along the river to L’Auberge Casino. We’re excited to see this network continue to grow, along with the work is doing to make downtown more connected and accessible.
In a city where getting around often means getting in a car, every new connection gives people another way to move through the city, access downtown, and enjoy the places around them.
We’re happy to have played a part in bringing this connection to life and proud to contribute to infrastructure that gives people more ways to experience Baton Rouge.

Roads aren’t actually flat, and drainage is one of the reasons why.

Roadways are designed with a slight cross slope to help rainwater move off the pavement and toward the drainage system. On a typical crowned roadway, the center is the high point, allowing water to move toward the edges on either side.

It’s a small design detail you may never notice, but it makes a difference every time it rains.
