We’re proud to share that the City of Bend Public Works Campus won a 2026 DJC Top Project Award!

As the first vertical construction project undertaken by the City in over 20 years, this project has incredible significance. It brings together all Public Works departments into a modern, centralized hub. Designed to achieve Net Zero performance, the project features electrified HVAC systems and rooftop photovoltaic panels across key structures, including the headquarters, fleet facilities, and covered parking.

This project is a true example of the benefits of progressive design-build (PDB) delivery and the results of high coordination and collaboration between all project team members to deliver a public facility that can continue to deliver essential services for its community for years to come.

It was amazing to see a crowd of community members celebrate the grand opening of the City of Bend Public Works Campus! 🎉

As Bend continues to grow, this new campus represents a direct investment in Bend’s future and the public works professionals that keep the city operating smoothly every day. The new 35.5-acre campus centralizes its Engineering, Facilities Fleet, Transportation and Mobility and Water Services departments while prioritizing employee wellness, cross-functional collaboration, efficiency and resiliency, sustainability, and future growth.

Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company (KNCC) and Hennebery Eddy Architects partnered together as the Progressive Design-Build (PDB), bringing a highly collaborative approach to the design and construction process. Thank you to all our project partners who were part of this project!

The moment is finally here! 📚🎉 After months of anticipation and hard work, the doors to the new Central Library have officially opened to the public.

It was amazing to see members of the community step inside the building on Monday for the first time, touring every floor and, of course, enjoying a treat from Thump Coffee in the lobby.☕

Seeing everyone in line to come in is the moment that makes all the hard work worth it. Thank you to everyone who made this project successful and be sure to make a visit soon!

Each year, the first week of May is a reminder to recognize the hard work and dedication that all construction crews bring to working safely on jobsites every day. To honor this week, our jobsites hosted BBQ lunches and toolbox talks to reinforce safe practices on jobsites.

On occupied school projects, we make it a priority to involve students and staff whenever we can into the construction journey by demonstrating how the work comes together and offering them a chance to play a hands-on role in shaping their school.

Recently, at the Bend Senior High School modernization project, our team invited students to help raise the new flagpoles at Heroes Plaza. It was a meaningful moment, one that left a lasting impression and gave students a true sense of ownership in the project (and yes, we appreciated the extra set of hands!).

A big thank you to Bend Senior High School and Bend-La Pine Schools for continuing to help make this project such a rewarding experience for the students and staff and for our team.

In honor of National Library Week, we’re highlighting the LEED Platinum-certified Redmond Library. Recently featured in the March/April 2026 issue of Architectural Products Magazine, the 40,000 sf building was thoughtfully built to meet Deschutes Public Library’s sustainability goals. Through features such as acoustic dowel-laminated timber and rooftop PV panels, the net zero building represents future-ready design and climate resiliency.

As local builders, we’re proud to have played a role in building this sustainably designed community anchor which will last for years to come.
