Proud to be serving TVF&R and building them a new Station 35!

Just like the balloons for this weekend’s Tigard Festival of Balloons - Oregon, our new Station 35 is rising from the ground. We’re starting to see the structure take shape day by day, and what was once just plans on paper is quickly becoming a building that will serve the community for years to come.
Our volunteers will also be out at Cook Family Park this whole weekend for the balloon festival, and we hope to see you there!

In honor of 40 years in business, we’re looking back at the projects that helped define our journey and bring us to where we are today.

One of our iconic projects that makes up KNCC’s legacy is the Deschutes County Fairgrounds & Expo Center. Recognized as “Building of the Year” by The Metallic Builder in 1999, the 132-acre project made a significant impact on Deschutes County. At the time of construction, it was reported to be the largest fairgrounds built in North America in more than two decades. Our very own Vice President, Mike Taylor, served as the project superintendent for the build. Today, the Deschutes County Fairgrounds continue to be a prominent event space for a wide range of events, bringing in visitors across the nation.

To this day, we continue to work on similar projects, including upgrading existing fairgrounds and building large-scale campuses for public entities, following our mission to build strong, vibrant futures for every community we serve.

In 2017, we completed the Clackamas Community College Harmony West building. The construction consisted of a new, 43,795 sf academic building located at CCC’s Harmony Campus in Milwaukie. The building includes an expansive lobby as well as chemistry and biology laboratory classrooms. The project also included an attached 2,500 sf event space.

At KNCC, we are grateful for our partnerships with colleges across Oregon and Washington, contributing to campus improvements that support lasting, meaningful learning environments.

We’re proud to celebrate the completion of Phase 1 of the Bend Senior High School Modernization! 🎉

This phase delivered a brand-new high school building on an active campus, made possible through extensive coordination with incredible subcontractors and a truly collaborative effort with Bend-La Pine Schools , BBT Architects, and the rest of the design team. Through the team’s diligent work, Phase 1 wrapped up weeks ahead of schedule and under budget!

The hard work to get across the finish line was all worth it when the project team had the honor of handing over the keys to the principal. Knowing that students and staff will walk through these doors and begin learning here this fall makes it all worthwhile.

This project is especially meaningful to us, with our founder, Kirby Nagelhout, and many of KNCC’s employees having walked through these same halls as students. This school is a significant part of KNCC’s history and legacy, and we’re proud to be a part of improving the high school campus to allow it to serve the Bend community for years to come.

With the old building set for demolition, we’re excited to keep the momentum going as we move into Phase 2!

🎉 We’re proud to share that we’re celebrating 40 years in business in 2026! 🎉

Our firm began with our founder, Kirby Nagelhout, working on the summit of Mt. Bachelor and has grown into one of Oregon’s premier general contractors, bringing meaningful projects to communities.

As we celebrate this milestone, we will share moments, projects, and memories from over the years that have shaped KNCC’s history. From those that have been here since the beginning to those that have recently joined our team, we’re all part of what we like to call the ‘Long Green Line’. Thank you to everyone — partners, clients, and team members — who have been part of the past four decades. We couldn’t have done this without every one of you! 🎉

Follow along as we continue to celebrate and honor this milestone.

We’re proud to share that the City of Bend Public Works Campus won a 2026 DJC Top Project Award!

As the first vertical construction project undertaken by the City in over 20 years, this project has incredible significance. It brings together all Public Works departments into a modern, centralized hub. Designed to achieve Net Zero performance, the project features electrified HVAC systems and rooftop photovoltaic panels across key structures, including the headquarters, fleet facilities, and covered parking.

This project is a true example of the benefits of progressive design-build (PDB) delivery and the results of high coordination and collaboration between all project team members to deliver a public facility that can continue to deliver essential services for its community for years to come.

Congratulations to all our project partners for helping make this a Top Project!!
