We're seeing and hearing more false information about solar panels and loss of farmland. This is one example of how solar farms and agriculture can be symbiotic. Grazing sheep under solar panels keeps weeds and grasses below the panels, and provides a great source of protein for the sheep. In addition, the lease for the farm provides income for the farm owner. This is a win-win-win!

Set to release in September 2024, the solar grazing documentary film project aims to raise awareness of the benefits that solar grazing can bring to farm families today, while helping preserve the land for future generations.

Some great news out of California
They'll be installing solar panels over canals, enough to power nearly 10 million homes! They will also mitigate evaporative loss, and the canals will keep them cooler, which increases yield.

In 2021, scientists published a feasibility study about erecting solar panels over canals, and it's about to become a reality.
