What a day at Equiparts' 2026 Sales Meeting!

This week, McGuire and SF Sales LLC's Scott Fitzgerald had the privilege of attending Equiparts' annual sales event — and the energy in the room was outstanding.

Over 40 inside and outside salespeople and marketing team members. A series of focused 30-minute sessions. Real conversations. Real product knowledge. Real commitment to getting McGuire into the hands of the professionals who need it.

Friday Factoid 💧

The first meeting to discuss the need for a plumbing code took place in 1906. But it took decades of disease outbreaks, contaminated water, and public health crises before the industry got serious about regulation.

In 1945, IAPMO adopted the first edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code. In 1956, the first Standard Plumbing Code was created — eventually evolving into the International Plumbing Code adopted in 35 states today.

These codes exist for one reason — to protect people. Every standard, every certification, every requirement was written because somewhere, something went wrong.

McGuire has been building to those codes since 1952. Our products are certified to ASME, CSA, and NSF standards — not because we have to, but because the people who install and depend on our products deserve nothing less.

The Safe Drinking Water Act was signed into law in 1974 by President Gerald Ford — giving the EPA oversight of our nation's drinking water for the first time.

Before that? There were no federal standards protecting the public from contaminated water supplies. Backflow events, cross-connections, and poor plumbing practices put millions at risk with little regulation to stop it.

Today, products like McGuire's ICV Defender exist because of the standards that act created. Every certified valve, every tested connection, every backflow prevention device traces back to the moment our country decided clean water was a right — not a luxury.
