For the past 16 years, the Square at Union Centre has been a place for West Chester to gather, celebrate, and connect. As the community has grown, this well-loved space was ready for a refresh.

West Chester Township - Government led the effort to make the Square even more welcoming, with updates including a larger lawn, improved lighting, a larger covered stage, mini splash pads, new seating, shaded areas, and expanded native plantings.

MSP is proud to have been part of the Square’s story from the beginning, from the original design to this latest round of improvements. The refreshed space was celebrated with a ribbon cutting on June 4, just in time for the first Takeover concert of the season.

Civil Engineering Spotlight: Townes at Thirty Two

Finding housing that fits different stages of life can be a challenge for growing communities. Townes at Thirty Two is helping address that need with 150 townhome units designed exclusively as rental housing, providing additional options for residents who want the space of a townhome without the commitment of homeownership.

The development is currently under construction and represents a different approach to residential growth in the area. By offering rental townhomes rather than traditional for-sale units, the community expands housing choices while creating a neighborhood designed for long-term livability and connection.

MSP Design provided survey, civil engineering, and landscape architecture services, supporting the project from site planning through construction coordination. Our team worked alongside the project partners to develop the infrastructure, grading, utilities, and site features needed to support the future community.

Townes at Thirty Two is being developed by Schnicke, with DR Horton serving as builder and Siteworx leading site construction. We look forward to seeing this new neighborhood continue to take shape.

The CREW Greater Cincinnati Annual Golf Outing is a great day on the course...with a bigger purpose behind it!

We were proud to sponsor the CREW annual golf outing, helping fund CREW Network Convention grants that provide members with professional development, industry insights, and national connections.

And to everyone who stopped by South Hole 7 for a photo, snacks, and to sign our frame—thank you for making it fun.

Last week, the Harrison Community Center welcomed the community together to celebrate a milestone years in the making. Families gathered for the grand opening of the new splash pad and plaza space with speeches, a ribbon cutting, shaved ice, and the first official splash of summer for local kids.

The improvements are part of a larger effort to reimagine the 53-acre community center campus into a more connected and active destination for Harrison residents. Phase 1 introduced a new splash pad, updated restroom facilities, expanded parking, upgraded utilities, and enhanced gathering spaces designed to support everyday community use.

This project reflects the strength of MSP’s multidisciplinary approach, bringing together Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Surveying to help shape a space that is both functional and welcoming for the community. From long-term master planning to detailed site and building improvements, the project was designed to support Harrison’s continued growth and create new opportunities for families to gather and connect.

We’re grateful to celebrate this opening with the City of Harrison, DER Construction, Hudepohl Engineering, PE Services, and the many community members who helped bring this vision to life. The excitement around the splash pad made it clear just how meaningful this investment will be for local families in the years ahead.

MSP 170 Year Anniversary Series: Baseball has deep roots in Cincinnati, and so does MSP. Since the days of the 1869 Red Stockings, the Reds have played across multiple ballparks and locations throughout the city. Over the years, MSP has surveyed two locations and three stadiums, including the 1885 Cincinnati Baseball League Park, Crosley Field, and today’s Great American Ball Park.

Last week, competition took over the office for MSP’s Office Olympics. From tower building and PPE relays to parking lot putting and pacing challenges, every team brought plenty of teamwork and competitive spirit throughout the afternoon.

What started as a close race between Team Green “The Green Stakes” and Team Yellow “The Yellow Safety Vests” ended in a tied score and a final hula hoop showdown. Both teams sent in one brave representative for the tiebreaker, and Team Green took home the gold.

Thanks to everyone at MSP who participated and helped make the day a fun break from the usual routine.

After nearly two decades of planning and community support, the USS Cincinnati Cold War Memorial & Peace Pavilion officially opened this past weekend at Voice of America MetroPark in West Chester.

Created to preserve the legacy of the USS Cincinnati and the service of her crews, the memorial gives veterans, families, students, and visitors a permanent place to reflect, learn, and gather. What began as a vision years ago is now a public space that connects history, education, and community.

Designed as an immersive experience, the pavilion incorporates original submarine elements including the conning tower, upper rudder, and the “Big Red Machine” emergency diesel generator, all integrated into a park setting built for learning and remembrance.

MSP Design was proud to support this project through architecture, civil engineering, landscape architecture, surveying, master planning, and construction administration services. We’re incredibly grateful to have worked alongside the Submarine Association Cincinnati, Conger Construction Group, MetroParks of Butler County, West Chester Township - Government, the Voice of America Museum, and the many partners, donors, veterans, and community members who helped bring this project to life. Seeing the space officially open to the public was a meaningful milestone for everyone involved.

Today marked another meaningful step forward for Goshen Township Fire/EMS and the future of Station 18. Community members, project partners, and first responders came together to celebrate the ribbon cutting and officially open a space designed to support the people who serve Goshen Township every day.

This project represents more than a new facility. Following the 2022 tornado, Station 18 became an opportunity to rebuild with resilience, creating a modern station equipped to support emergency response, training, and the growing needs of the community for years to come.

MSP Design is proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Goshen Township on a project centered around service, safety, and community impact. Thank you to Goshen Township Fire/EMS, Conger Construction Group, and everyone who helped bring this vision to life.

The celebration continues tomorrow with a public open house on Saturday, May 9 from 1–4 PM. Community members are invited to stop by, tour the new station, and see the completed space firsthand.
