After years of planning, The Light of Hope now has a permanent home in Avondale, honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy while connecting it to Cincinnati’s own Civil Rights history.

Located at Martin Luther King Drive and Reading Road, the memorial centers on a bronze statue of Dr. King surrounded by six stained glass panels representing the principles of nonviolence. Together, the memorial creates a place for reflection, learning, gathering, and continued conversation within the community.

MSP partnered with METALab Studios and artist group RE to help bring the vision into the site. Our team led site design, engineering, security design, lighting and electrical engineering, and construction administration, work that required extensive coordination through design, approvals, permitting, and construction.

The recent unveiling marked the culmination of that effort and the beginning of something much longer lasting: a place for Cincinnati to gather, remember, and carry Dr. King’s message forward.

As part of our Architecture team, Nikki enjoys the problem-solving behind great design, finding thoughtful ways to balance building codes, client goals, and creative ideas. With experience in affordable housing and multifamily projects, she’s looking forward to continuing to grow as a designer alongside our team.

When she’s not designing, Nikki enjoys boxing, reading, cooking, traveling, and playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends. And a fun fact for Disney fans: she can nearly quote the entire *Lilo & Stitch* movie from memory!

Supporting students means helping remove the barriers between them and their next opportunity.

MSP Design was proud to support Butler Tech’s Fairways to Freeways Golf Outing, where 100% of the proceeds help provide driver’s education tuition and license fees for students in need.

Our VP of Architecture, Dave Clark, brought his son along for a day of golf, connection, and a little fun on the course. We’re grateful to support a longtime client and partner making a meaningful difference for students in our community.

Last Friday, Dave Clark, Emily Lubbers, Andrew Dodds, and Bryan Grome joined the More Than Medicine Golden Gala at Cincinnati Music Hall, celebrating five decades of community-centered care alongside their spouses and fellow supporters.

Before a community can grow, it starts with understanding the land first.

170+ years ago, property owners and developers needed surveyors to map new subdivisions and turn open land into real neighborhoods. That hasn't changed.

The tools have changed and advanced exponentially, but the job is still the same: understand the land, work through the complexity, and find a way forward.

From hand-drawn plats in the 1800s to the surveying and civil engineering work we do now, we've been helping clients turn vision into reality one project at a time.

Montgomery Quarter is transforming a former auto dealership site into a vibrant mixed-use destination that will connect residents, businesses, and visitors in the heart of Montgomery.

MSP Design provided planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture, and surveying services to help bring the 19-acre redevelopment to life. The project also includes a 70,000-cubic-foot underground stormwater detention vault that helps manage stormwater while maximizing usable space above ground.

We're proud to be part of the team working alongside Brandicorp, Hills Properties, Bray Construction, Open Architecture, KZF, MKSK, and the City of Montgomery on this exciting redevelopment.

Earlier this month, our team came together for our annual Town Hall and Service Awards, taking time to celebrate service milestones, welcome new teammates, share where MSP is headed, and recognize the collaboration that makes our work possible every day.
