Idaho Forest Group

Idaho Forest Group One of America's largest lumber producers, Idaho Forest Group grows, harvests, manufactures and distributes the incredible product that is wood.

Idaho Forest Group’s success has grown from humble beginnings. In 1934, Guy Bennett began his lumber career in the charcoal briquette division of Potlatch Mill. With his sons Dick and Frank, and daughter Janice, he built a significant presence. Dick would leave to form Bennett Forest Industries. The Brinkmeyer family has a farming and timber heritage of their own, beginning in the Old World and cu

lminating in Riley Creek Lumber. In 2008, these two industry powerhouses merged to become Idaho Forest Group. The company continues to expand in facilities and market share, and is now one of America’s top producers of wood products.

For employees in rural communities, accessing healthcare isn’t always as simple as finding a provider nearby or fitting an appointment into a busy workday. That’s why Idaho Forest Group partners with healthcare providers who help make health and well-being resources more accessible, including onsite healthcare visits and telehealth services.

It’s about meeting employees where they are and removing barriers to care. Thanks to partners like Syringa Hospital & Clinics for helping keep our teams healthy!

We are excited to announce a partnership between Syringa Hospital & Clinics and Idaho Forest Group to support employee health and well-being.

Through this partnership, Syringa's Teresa Soderling, Family Nurse Practitioner, will provide on-site healthcare and wellness visits, making it easier for employees to access the care they need close to work.

The 2026 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree has been selected on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. The tree, which will stand in front of the Nation’s Capitol in Washington, D.C., is an 80-foot tall grand fir located on the Salmon River Ranger District. 🎄

The Salmon River Ranger District spans 536,000 acres on the Southwest end of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Exemplifying this year’s U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree theme, “over the rivers and through the woods” the Salmon River Ranger District includes parts of the Salmon River and South Fork Clearwater River drainages and spans vast areas of diverse landscapes from grasslands on the Salmon River breaks to productive forests to mountain peaks in the Gospel Hump Wilderness.

As communities across our region work to recover from devastating wildfires this season, our thoughts remain with everyone who has experienced loss, displacement, or uncertainty.

Wildfire reminds us that protecting our forests and communities is a year-round responsibility. Long before smoke fills the sky, foresters, land managers, and firefighters are working to reduce risk through science-based forest stewardship. Activities such as thinning overgrown forests, reducing hazardous fuels, and responsibly salvaging damaged timber help improve forest health and resilience while creating conditions that can lessen the severity of future wildfires.
