Periodontal inflammation has been linked to cardiovascular disease, complicated glycemic control in diabetes, respiratory infection, pregnancy complications, and emerging questions around cognitive decline.

Your hygienist sees the consequences of a rough gingival margin long before you do.

September is National Gum Care Month, and gum health is a restorative problem as much as a hygiene one. An overhang, an open margin, or a void at the gingival seat is a plaque trap the patient cannot clean.
