We've heard this story more than once…

A converter calls their press manufacturer for a part or a service call. Can't get anyone on the phone. Days go by.. Days turn into weeks. Then months. The press is left sitting.

Now here's the part that gets us: that same manufacturer has this customer running 20 of their presses. 20!

If you can't get a callback with 20 machines on the floor, imagine what it's like with one or two.

That's the reality for a lot of converters dealing with large OEMs. You're not a priority. You're an account number in a queue to them, and the queue is long.

Rotocon USA doesn't operate that way. Neither does Q360 Group. We believe that every customer deserves world-class support.

Parts calls get answered by a knowledgeable team member. Service requests get handled fast. Nobody sitting on hold because their account isn't big enough to matter.

White glove treatment isn't something we reserve for only the biggest orders. It's just how we do business.

Mounting tape is specified by durometer -- the hardness of the foam -- not just thickness.

Softer durometer tape compresses more under impression. That's the right choice for flexible packaging where the substrate gives. Harder durometer holds the plate more rigidly, which is better for precise repeat work on dimensionally stable substrates.

Running the wrong durometer for the job means you're fighting impression settings to compensate for a tape spec issue. Plates lift at the edges, or density suffers in soft areas, and the fix keeps not sticking.

Q360 is a 3M Master Distributor for flexographic mounting tapes. If you're not sure you're running the right spec for your application, it's a quick conversation that can save a lot of troubleshooting time.

Here's what "like-new condition" actually means on a Q360 Platinum rebuild -- because that phrase gets thrown around a lot in this industry:

Complete mechanical teardown. Every major system inspected and documented. Critical components replaced, not evaluated and left in place. The press is cleaned, repainted, reassembled, and tested under production load before it ships.

Then it ships with a 12-month warranty.

"Like-new" shouldn't be a vague claim. On a Platinum, it means the press performs to spec, you have documentation of what was done, and if something goes wrong in the first year, we stand behind it.

That's what the word should mean. That's what it means here.

We're straightforward about press condition because that's how we prefer to do business.

When a customer asks what's wrong with a piece of equipment, we tell them. When a repair doesn't make economic sense, we say so. When a part has a better alternative, we point it out.

That's not a strategy. It's just the standard we hold ourselves to. The flexo industry is small and relationships are long. The only way to build something worth building here is to be the kind of company people can trust to give them a straight answer.

3 things that shorten anilox roll life faster than anything else:

1. The wrong cleaning method for your ink system. Solvent-based inks and water-based inks require different cleaning approaches. Using the wrong chemistry leaves residue in the cells that hardens over time and is nearly impossible to remove without ultrasonic cleaning.

2. Running a worn doctor blade too long. A degraded blade doesn't just meter inconsistently -- it scores the roll surface. Once the cells are damaged, the roll needs to be replaced.

3. Skipping inventory rotation. Running the same rolls continuously without rotation creates uneven wear. Shops that track and rotate their anilox inventory consistently get significantly more life out of each roll.

Anilox rolls are a significant investment. How you maintain them determines how long they last!

The North American flexo market has been dominated by the same names for a long time.

Rotocon USA is here to change that.

German-engineered presses. Family-run business on both sides of the Atlantic. A full service and support infrastructure in North America backed by Q360 Group -- critical spares in New Jersey, field technicians nationwide, and a team that treats customers like partners instead of account numbers.

The CHROME RFP is serious equipment. Converters who've seen it run are paying attention. The ones who haven't yet will get their chance at LOUPE Americas this September.

The converting world has a new player.

Scheduled maintenance gets pushed more than almost any other item on the operations calendar.

Something comes up. A job runs long. The press is running fine.

Then it isn't.

Reactive maintenance costs more than preventative maintenance. Every time, without exception. If your PM schedule has been slipping, it's worth getting it back on track before the press makes the decision for you.

Q360 builds maintenance programs around your production schedule -- not a generic calendar. Reach out if you want to talk through what that looks like.

There's a version of ""we'll get back to you on availability"" that means tomorrow.

And there's a version that means three weeks, possibly longer, and we'll see.

When your press is down, those two answers are completely different situations.

Q360 Group ships same-day on critical in-stock parts. 30,000+ SKUs across virtually every major press platform. We built the inventory specifically so ""we'll get back to you"" means tomorrow -- not next month.

A customer reached out to us last month. They'd bought a press through an online listing -- no inspection, no documentation, just photos and a price that looked right.

Six weeks after installation, the gearbox started making noise. By week eight, they were down

The repair cost more than they'd saved versus buying a certified press. And that's before you count the lost production.

We're not telling this story to scare anyone off the used market -- used equipment is a smart play when it's done right. We're telling it because "done right" means knowing what you're buying before you commit.

Q360's Gold and Platinum programs exist specifically for this. Inspection reports. Documented condition. Repairs approved before shipment. Warranty on rebuilds.

The used market has real value. Hidden problems don't have to be part of the deal.

The most expensive press in your plant isn't always the one generating the most profit.

Older equipment running a tight, well-understood job mix at consistent quality can outperform a newer press that's being pushed into applications it wasn't optimized for, or that's carrying a debt load the margin can't support.

Equipment decisions should be driven by what the press actually produces, not what it cost or how old it is. A 15-year-old press that's been properly maintained, running the right jobs, and staffed by operators who know it cold is a genuine asset.

New isn't always better. Right for the operation is always better.
