It’s ok if you don’t use Heritage Heating and Cooling for your new system. We also do repairs. Customer with a one year old system that the installer would not work on has a bad compressor. We got the compressor covered under warranty but the labor and new gas I not covered. All this because of moisture in the lines when it was first installed.

What is that Buzzing Noise? (The Mighty Capacitor)
If you walk outside past your AC condenser and hear a loud, distinct buzzing noise but the fan isn't spinning, your system is crying out for help.

That sound usually means your capacitor has failed. Think of the capacitor like a giant battery that gives your compressor and fan motor the high-voltage "jolt" they need to start up. Summer heat causes these components to overheat and bulge out.

Warning: Do not let the system keep buzzing! It can burn out your expensive compressor motor. Turn the thermostat off and call a professional technician right away.

Saturday Checklist: Clear the Exterior Unit
Happy Saturday, NWA! While you are out mowing the lawn or working in the garden this weekend, take 60 seconds to inspect your outdoor AC condenser.

Your outdoor unit needs to "breathe" to release the heat it absorbed from inside your house. Make sure to:

Trim back bushes, weeds, or tall grass at least 2 feet away from the unit.

Check for grass clippings blown into the metal fins by the lawnmower.

Clear away any stray twigs or leaves.

A clear unit runs cooler, lasts longer, and drops your energy usage!
