We’re proud to announce that our in-house welders have renewed their ABS and Lloyd’s certifications.

A special congratulations to Ronald Grady, who earned his certification for the first time after transitioning from our haul and launch crew into welding. Through his apprenticeship with the MIASF’s YSTAP program, Ron has become a valuable asset to our welding team.

Here, our project managers John Resnik and Kyle Copeland take you through the work sites of two major paint projects in Fort Pierce. Both are 60M vessels, each at a different stage of the process.

Kyle’s project started with a return to bare metal. By the time you’re watching this, the vessel will be fully primed. John’s project had already been primed and was moving into hull paint. Now, the hull is fully painted, and the vessel is nearing its launch date.

There’s something special about a paint project. It’s a full renewal, and with every stage, the vessel gets one step closer to looking brand new.

The Refit X preview brought together some of the most qualified voices in our industry to discuss the future of yacht refit in the U.S. We were proud to be part of the conversation. Important points were raised and ideas shared that we’ll be taking back to the shipyard.

There is a strong case for refitting in the U.S. Our skilled workforce, capable shipyards, and established marine industry make this a competitive destination for complex refit projects. Realizing that potential requires continued investment in our working waterfront and ongoing industry dialogue.

We look forward to next year’s fully dedicated event, where we can take the discussion further through in-depth conversations and case studies. Continued conversations like these are important to bringing the industry closer together, strengthening collaboration, and advancing the U.S. refit sector.

This week, we were happy to welcome state and local officials to our Mamaroneck shipyard for a behind-the-scenes look at the R/V Brewer, a new educational research vessel we’re building for SoundWaters.

It was a great opportunity to share more about the project and how this vessel will bring students closer to Long Island Sound through hands-on marine science and environmental education. We’re proud to play a part in connecting the next generation to our waterways and the many opportunities within the maritime industry.
