A couple of years after opening, we’re looking back at what it took to bring UW Health ’s Eastpark Medical Center to life and expand access to specialized care, advanced cancer treatment, and clinical research across the region.
Behind the 475,000+ square-foot, seven-story facility was a 28-month build involving more than 40 specialty services, a 73-chair infusion center and one of the project’s most complex components: the proton therapy treatment area, which began seeing patients earlier this year. From specialized foundations and mass concrete placements to planning for future upright proton therapy capabilities, every piece required careful coordination between UW Health, our joint venture partner Mortenson , designers and trade partners.
The result is more than a new healthcare facility. Completed in 2024 as the largest medical facility finished in the United States that year, Eastpark was built to support patients, evolving technology and the future of healthcare in Wisconsin.
