Nothing beats the energy of a busy with jobs on road, especially when you’re passing the torch to the next generation. ⚡

Having a recent high school grad helping me out lately has been a great reminder of where it all started. It takes me back to the days when an old foreman took a chance on me and taught me the ropes of being an ironworker and welder.

Teaching the fundamentals reminds you that having a helping hand goes a long way—and that we all have a responsibility to look out for the future of the trades.

Whether this young man stays in welding for the long haul or takes a different path, I’m proud to help guide him.It got me thinking about how tight-knit our community is. We all started somewhere.

Behind the Scenes: The Price of Independence 🛠️

Yeah, the jobs are finished and the clients are happy. But here is the part you don’t see on social media: maintaining the equipment.Instead of kicking back this weekend, I’m spending my Saturday changing out a water pump belt on the big rig.

Running a small welding and fabrication business means the work doesn't stop when the drive into the driveway. Sometimes it means missing out on getting together with friends because the trucks have to roll on Monday.

It is definitely not easy being a small business owner, but keeping things running right is what keeps us moving forward.

Whether we are striking an arc before dawn or finishing a fabrication job long after sundown, we have the visibility to keep welds clean and projects on schedule.

Fabricating and welding custom winch mounts on the push boat for Blutide Marine Construction! Big shoutout to my pipeliner umbrella for keeping this brutal sun off my back while I lay down these beads. Hard work pays off, and staying shaded makes the grind a little easier.Next up for push boat painting.
