Congrats, Southern Nevada Development Coalition, SNDC!
Gonorazky, P.E., S.E. and M. Lea attended the Southern Nevada Development Coalition’s Inaugural Luncheon and heard from leaders about the opportunities and challenges shaping our region’s continued growth. Thank you to Ann Barnett, Steve Neiger, Joe Brenzy, Tina Frias, Kurt Brna, Jordan Krahenbuhl, Robin Crawford, Kelly Gaines, Tiffany Banks, and Mac Bybee.
A few themes from the speakers really stood out:
Southern Nevada’s economy continues to grow, with interest and investment across the region. We may be in a new normal as we continue to face challenges such as war, tariffs, and future political races.
Development demand remains high. Southern Nevada is using approximately 2,300 acres of land each year, creating an increasing need for both residential and commercial development opportunities.
Housing affordability remains a challenge. High interest rates, construction and builder costs, financing challenges, insurance costs, and home prices are all affecting the ability to deliver attainable housing and attract buyers.
Workforce development is critical. The trades are growing, but the industry needs to attract and develop the next generation of skilled workers.
Growth is diversified. Healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, industrial development, and sports facilities are all contributing to the region’s economic momentum.
The message was clear: Southern Nevada is growing quickly, and thoughtful development, available land, infrastructure, workforce, and collaboration will be essential to supporting that growth. We look forward to learning about the future solutions to these challenges.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of the conversation and to connect with the leaders, developers, contractors, and professionals helping shape the future of our community.
