!!CARBON MONOXIDE!! And a tip to avoid it: With the temperatures dropping this time of year, we have been firing up our central heaters. It is a good idea to go ahead and turn them on BEFORE you need them. After an entire Summer of dust collection, the first burn of the year always smells horrible and it is filled with smoke and carbon monoxide. Do yourself a favor and find some time to start it up, open your doors and windows, and go outside for a while. Be sure to keep an eye on the furnace as it fires in case of a dust fire (very rare). Once it's fired then you are good to take your family and pets outdoors for some fun!! Once it airs out then you can go back inside. Expect it to smell like something burning for a day or 2 but that is completely normal. Have a good day!!
