Helwig Carbon sends a special thank you to Katherine Po***ck and Erik Kiger, our summer interns from the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE), who gained hands-on experience in new product development and R&D under the guidance of Helwig’s industry-leading experts.

Katie worked with mentor Zach Schroeder, R&D Engineer, on testing new tamping agents, taking micrographs used to analyze material structure, and finding a solution to product loss during the granulation process. Erik worked with mentor Danny Jacobs, Mechanical Design Engineer, on updating and taking measurements from test stands and aiding in creation of a new BPK-Probe™ accessory.

Congratulations to Customer Service Technical Specialist Terry Ewert on his retirement from Helwig after nearly 47 years! After seven years in the shipping department, Terry moved into customer service, where he has been using his technical expertise to provide quotes and identify brushes for more than 40 years.
