🇺🇸 Plumbing Myth Monday: If the water heater isn’t leaking, nothing is wrong.

Not always! A visible leak is only one possible warning sign. Inconsistent temperatures, discolored water, unusual noises or less available hot water may appear before water ever reaches the floor.

Paying attention to changes can help you address a small concern before it becomes a cold-shower surprise.

Have a safe and relaxing Labor Day!

🔍 Inside the Line: Before and After

The opening in this kitchen line had become restricted by grease and debris collecting along the pipe walls.

Clearing enough buildup to get the drain moving may provide temporary relief, but it may not address everything inside the line. Camera footage helps us see the extent of the problem and determine the appropriate next step.

This is why repeatedly treating the symptom may not solve the entire problem.

🛢️ Grease doesn’t disappear just because it goes down the drain.

Hot grease may enter your kitchen line as a liquid, but as it travels farther through the pipe, it cools and begins sticking to the walls. Food particles and other debris can then collect on that grease, gradually restricting the opening.

Keeping grease out of the drain is much easier than removing the buildup later.

💧 Friday Installation Spotlight!

A whole-home water system isn’t one-size-fits-all. The home’s plumbing layout, available space, access for future service and household water use should all be considered before selecting and installing the equipment.

Thoughtful planning and proper connections help create a clean, functional installation built around the home.

Have questions about your water or the available options? We’ll explain them without pressuring you.

💧 What are you noticing about your home’s water?

Taste, odor, chlorine concerns, scale buildup or simply wanting treated water throughout the house are all common reasons homeowners explore whole-home filtration.

But every home’s water and plumbing are different. The right conversation should begin with what you’re experiencing—not a generic product pitch or a one-size-fits-all promise.

💧We get water filtration questions pretty often, so we put together a breakdown that covers it in detail.

If you've noticed a chlorine smell, dry skin after showers, or spots on dishes and fixtures, that's usually a sign of what's in your water supply, not just an inconvenience. This week's Learning Center post covers how a whole-home filtration system like the HALO 5 works, what it actually removes, and how to check what's specifically in your area's water before deciding if it's worth considering for your home.

Full breakdown here: https://rossonplumbing.com/is-halo-5-the-ultimate-whole-home-system/

If you've got questions about your own water quality or whether whole-home filtration makes sense for your house, feel free to reach out.

Learn how the HALO 5 whole home system works, what it filters, and whether it's the right fit for your house.

🔎 Tools of the Trade: Leak Detection

Hidden leaks don’t always leave an obvious puddle. Sometimes the first clues are an unexplained increase in your water bill, damp areas, reduced water pressure or the sound of running water when everything is turned off.

Leak-detection equipment helps us listen, locate and verify those clues—narrowing down the problem before deciding where repairs may be needed.

Less guessing. More evidence. 🛠️

🔍 The clog cleared—but then it came back.

After dealing with another backup, this homeowner needed more than another temporary fix. A camera inspection allowed us to look deeper into the mainline and uncover the underlying problem.

Restoring flow is important. Understanding why the blockage happened is what helps determine the right long-term solution.

If a clog keeps coming back, it’s time to find out why.
